identical case below , 3-0 forfeit . standard, its in the rule book if a player who is suspended participates than a forfeit is awarded . I fully expect UEFA to make that decision , its pretty simple.

ND Mura 05 have been awarded a 3-0 win in their UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg against FC Arsenal Kyiv after the Ukrainian team fielded an ineligible player.


Last Thursday's opener ended in a 3-0 win for the home side, but UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body ruled that the result should be a 3-0 victory for Slovenian visitors Mura because Arsenal Kyiv's Eric Matoukou, the scorer of the third goal, was serving the second game of a two-match suspension.

Matoukou had been handed a two-match ban after receiving a red card while playing for KRC Genk in a UEFA Europa League qualifier against FC Porto on 19 August 2010.

The Cameroonian international sat out the second leg of that tie in Portugal but, having not been registered for UEFA competition by Genk in 2011/12, had not served the second part of his suspension before taking to the field last week.

With the first-leg result having been forfeited, Mura will be defending a 3-0 lead when the tie concludes in Slovenia on Thursday. In addition, Matoukou has now been banned for two matches, the first being the upcoming second leg. An appeal can be lodged against this decision within three days of the dispatch of the written decision.

 

Read the rules, pal. Playing a suspended player is a forfeit, playing an inelligible player is down to the opposing team's complaint. Chin up, there's always the Europa League.

I fully get what you mean Gargame and I hate to sound like a broken record but the whole point is Celtic have done nothing wrong. Nobody is disagreeing that we were well humped over the two legs. Yet as far as I know Celtic aren't the ones that spotted the mistake it was someone in UEFA.

Any club no matter who, be they Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd, Bayern or even St Pats wouldn't take a UEFA ruling going in their favour. We are no different.

we dont deserve to go into the next round, regardless of whether legia fielded an ineligible player for the last 5 minutes of a tie that was already over before the match had even begun

we havent been cheated out of our place in the next draw, we threw it away due to a combination no backing to RD with regards to bringing in players that could make an immediate impact, some poor decisions from RD, and a lack of effort and desire from the majority of players on the pitch

being allowed to go through to the next round due to a silly oversight by legia that had absolutely no bearing on the result would be more embarrassing than the manner of the defeat itself

So the basics of this would seem if the player in question is serving a ban and plays in a match its punishable by the match being forfeited 3-0, and it seems he wasn't registered for the st pats games and then played in ours which means he was ineligible.
