So they just forgot to register a player who they knew was suspended :97: and never deliberatly left him out their squad so they could register another player. Then remembered to register him for the Celtic games :97:

No, they deliberatly left him out of the St Patricks squad not realising then his ban won't begin until he is registered.

    * up of epic proportions.

Would a 6:1 satisfy you more ? For me the case is simple. They cheated ? They go out.

I'm certainly not getting my hopes up but with the draw for the play offs tomorrow and those matches to be played very soon UEFA are going to have make a quick ruling one way or the other.

Would I take a 3-0 forfeit? Yes, because it would give us some breathing space to at least strengthen and sort out the mess we are in. I see it as being no different to the Sion situation.

Reverse the situation and we'd played someone by who rights had no right to play and we forfeited a win 3-0 we'd just have to accept someone * up big time.

Still a part of me wants it :50:Throw cheating Legia OUT and give us a half decent draw;) That would be like winning the lottery twice.

I've not kept up-to-date with this threat, however -

'Bereszyński was sent off in the UEFA Europa League last season. The duration of his subsequent ban was for three games but he missed Legia's next three UEFA matches against St Patrick's Athletic and the home leg of his side's tie with Celtic.

UEFA regulations however state that a ban only applies to a player if he is listed in a club's squad for matches. If the player in question was not on Legia's squad list for the St Patrick's tie, he would have been ineligible for the Celtic match.'

Anyone fancy researching this - Surely if he was 'suspended', then he wouldn't have been in the squad list? I don't get it...

But Lion, Sion did it on purpose, knew exactly what they were doing and were trying to gain an advantage; Legia simply forgot to fill in a form. How is that the same.

Is there a Legia forum where we can take the * ? We may only have a few hours to scare them before Uefa fine them and leave us to die in the Europa....

The most telling thing about this is the difference in semantics between rules 2 and 3.

In 2, they've stated the word IS, i.e. no exceptions.
In 3, they've said MAY BE, i.e. there can be exceptions, mostly based on complaint by the opposition.

Note also the clear distinction between suspended and ineligible.

Bottom line is: they've broken the rules.

I think it was a complete accident and a small *-up, nothing more; but I'm now edging towards them losing 3-0 despite the previous precedent from Debrecen where the player was ineligible rather than suspended.

ND Mura 05 have been awarded a 3-0 win in their UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg against FC Arsenal Kyiv after the Ukrainian team fielded an ineligible player.

Last Thursday's opener ended in a 3-0 win for the home side, but UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body ruled that the result should be a 3-0 victory for Slovenian visitors Mura because Arsenal Kyiv's Eric Matoukou, the scorer of the third goal, was serving the second game of a two-match suspension.

Matoukou had been handed a two-match ban after receiving a red card while playing for KRC Genk in a UEFA Europa League qualifier against FC Porto on 19 August 2010.

The Cameroonian international sat out the second leg of that tie in Portugal but, having not been registered for UEFA competition by Genk in 2011/12, had not served the second part of his suspension before taking to the field last week.

With the first-leg result having been forfeited, Mura will be defending a 3-0 lead when the tie concludes in Slovenia on Thursday. In addition, Matoukou has now been banned for two matches, the first being the upcoming second leg. An appeal can be lodged against this decision within three days of the dispatch of the written decision.

What if I drove my car without tax and told the police I forgot to fill out the form?
