Despite this being a video showing only his good bits in a Celtic shirt, it still isn't even impressive. There's absolutely nothing out of the ordinary throughout the whole video. Lost count of how many of them goals were deflections or own goals :smiley-laughing002:

He has nothing to his game, other than pace. Absolutely no technical ability whatsoever.

I think he'd fit in at Aberdeen or Caley, that's about the level he's at imo...

GMS is twice the player, so hopefully he'll be cementing his place on the right wing.

Honestly Paddy, you are coming across * stupid with this no technical ability pish.

A deaf mute guy in Timbuktu knows he has technical ability, that is not the issue regarding Forrest.

People have pretty black and white opinions when it comes to football and that isn't a right way to look at things, Forrest has played a lot of big games for us and people easily forget this and focus on his injuries and his perceived 'attitude' which going by comments from Ronny on him is completely non existent.

The way he's being talking about his core not being right and how he was only at 40% last season he is obviously lacking mentally on how he feels and that is effecting his performance what doesn't help that is everyone getting on his back the second he does something wrong. His confidence and his 'core' will come and he will return to full fitness, for this to happen though people need to be patient with him - this is his longest run injury free in years and its the first game of the new season people should give the boy a chance and get off his back I cant imagine all the injuries and not being full fit has been easy on him.

I've been giving him a chance for 5 year.

I don't rate him and you do. Fair enough, time will tell.

I'm not Forrest's biggest fan, I've long admitted that, but come on, you're being ridiculously over the top there. The one thing you could level at him judging on that video alone (and something I think is true of him in real life) is that he needs space to really shine; most of his best moments in that video are during games that are open or stretched. He's not very effective against packed defences. Still, to say he has no technical ability is just silly.

Hes got alot of potential still but i just find it hard to think if he will ever reach it and to be honest it will be mostly to do with injuries more than anything.

His technical ability is very very limited , that is undeniable . Just look at his shooting technique - he essentially just lofts a cross at goal - doesn't get his head over the ball and never strikes through it with his laces or instep. He literally has one method of hitting a football and he uses it for every scenario .

Yeah those ridiculous curled shots with the outside of the boot that cut the grass into the bottom corner just scream lofted.

No he lofts his " shots " at goal the vast majority of the time . He is incredibly lacking in his range of ability and his mastering of the football is strangely limited for a boy that has come through at such a big club. His pace has got him far .

    Agree with this.
Forrest is very limited technically, and is a one trick pony. Head down, cut inside and run like a demented duck.
GMS has more tricks in his box, and deserves to cement that position for himself on the right wing.
Forrest has had five years to make his mark, and still can't do it.

Give it up for * sake, his shooting and overall technique is horrible. Constantly blazing them over the bar.

You know when you see goalkeeper coaches lofting high balls into keepers for catching practise during the warm up ? That is the technique Forrest uses when he shoots, and you will see many of his shots sail harmlessly over the bar or palmed over by an overly cautious goalkeeper(normally going over anyway ) . Even with his goal against Karagandy he nearly put it over from about 11 yards out , leaning back and opening his foot on it - if he was a yard further back it would have gone over . He shoots this way as it is the only way he can ensure his shot is on target- he obviously doesn't trust himself to strike through the ball with the instep or laces . Boy must have a foot like a pitching wedge - he should pay close attention to how Kris Commons strikes a football and take note.

Don't think he will ever make the cut at Celtic.

The fact deila sees something in him is encouraging though. Maybe 1-2 seasons without injury could make a huge difference. Maybe.

    That is the best yet.

If it was further back it would have went over.
