Missing Brown, Sammy and Ledley tonight from that squad, and we only just got there because we were playing three of the easiest teams we could have played. The team has been * since we sold Hooper and Wanyama. Last season's CL performances should have been a wake-up for everyone, and going on Lenny's actions, he knew what was coming.

Hello all.

I had tried to get to the game tonight but by the time I got near the ground I Couldn't get parked anywhere. Gave up when I'd ended up in the city centre with 10 mins already played, although I'm glad now I hadn't paid to sit through that.

This is what happens when you let quality walk out the door. We could have done with big Sammy in this tie, and Brown and Forrest being missing hurt us big time. But really, the underinvestment in the squad is plain to see. From 18 months ago to now the boards obsession with selling for big money and putting the cash away from the team was always gonna lead here. And now by not reinvesting we have a group of payers who are not good enough for the big stage and know it.

I really hope Deila can build the team he wants and be a success, but the board need to get a shake from this and start to back him up. I heard his interview with radio Scotland and he reckons he will have money to spend. I think it'll be some time before we have a team capable of doing well in Europe again though. What a waste of the opportunity we have had to build on Lennons triumphs. Hopefully a couple of quality signings will change that but I feel we're gonna have to be patient this season!

 

We'll see how little TV time we get, if performances like this keep up.

After watching this horror show againts Legia, no Celtic supporter has the right to look down on Europa League. The cruel reality is that the current squad is Europa League quality. And even in the EL, there will be quite a few teams with better players than Celtic. If we qualify, that is...

 

Once he sells two or three for 15/20m then you got a deal.

 

Yeah, loads of teams in it are far better than us. Sevilla, Inter, Spurs, Everton, Kiev, Villarreal etc etc. Of course none of them really want to be in the Europa League. No one bar the the very tiny teams that get in via a once in a generation cup run want to be in it.

 

The Europa League is no avenue for marketing our club. No one says, oh I'm looking forward to joining the club so I can play in the Europa League. The TV companies won't even give a *. Our own fans will be struggling to follow games, especially considering a lot like yourself (and me) live outside of Scotland.

 

Disgusted, ashamed and embarrassed. Players should hang their heads in shame.
