    Two messages for Celtic`s fans

Hello, I am a Legia`s fan from Warsaw, I registered here today in your forum to share my view/thoughts.

First of all I want to pay respect to Celtic and its fans.

Celtic is a Big Name in Poland, especially in Warsaw, in Celtic played three Legia`s players: Holy Goalie Artur, Jackie Dziekanowski (four goals in one Celtic`s match :) and defender Wdowczyk, our legends.

After the match in Warsaw, I have two messages for you, one optimistic, another pesimistic:

    1. Do not loose your hopes, you did not play that bad as you write.
    2. Loose your hopes, Legia is neither Artmedia nor Karagandy.

    1. About the first version:

You did not play that bad as you histerically write here in forum :). In the first half the match was equal, Celtic played nice game, had more chances than the first goal. For me the fair HT result should be 1:1.

The second half you played after red card. It is the different match when one plays with 10 or 11 players. Although that fact, you kept quite good result 1:2 till 77 minute. Not that bad, hhmmm?
In 77 minute I had tears in my eyes: "fuuuck, AGAIN we lost our hope for CL". Then Kuba Kosecki came into field, you don`t know the guy but he is our hidden force, fast as Ferrari, we always put him on the field in final minutes to make a merry-go-round with opposite side defenders. He made a job. Final result 4:1. Deserved or not? I don`t know. We had two failed penalties, so it could be even 6:1.
But if not your player was sent off, the match could go either way. In the first half you were not the worse team. Even after red card - You played equal match. All your catastrophe happened in final 15 minutes. Not that bad, as you complain? So the final message is:
Do not loose Your hopes, you did not play that bad as You write.

    2. The second message is:
Loose your hopes, Legia is neither Artmedia nor Karagandy.

Probably you all remember your results with Karagandy home (3:0) and Artmedia Petrzalka home (4:0) and all your hopes are based on those results. On this forum you sometimes write: OK, Legia is a poor team, they only have Radovic, Legia is not a worldbeater, we will crash/trash them 3:0 and farewell to Legia.

Hold your hopes for a moment. Why?

Legia is NOT a typical team: good at home/bad away. Since our new Norwegian coach: Berg came (in Feb 2014) we loose matches at home BUT we did not loose even one game away. More: since March we had a seven wins away in row (the same result Legia had in... 1932, yes). We loose at home but never away. Since Feb we won all games apart one draw. A miracle? No, Legia does not have many good technically players and when we play at home (being a favourite) the opposite side parks a bus on their penalty area and we are tootheless. When someone strong, like you - Celts - come to our field and play an open game, we have many more chances to shoot a goal. Away it is easier, hosts MUST attack, so we can play our favourite style: counterattacks.

    Examples?
After the summer break we played 4 official matches:
we lost two home and won two away.

    More?
In CL qualifications with St. Patricks:
we drew 1:1 at home and won 5:0 away.

Summary: don`t think that after 1:4 in Warsaw you can easily beat us home 3:0, we are not that kind of team. Loose your hopes, Guys :). Celtic is a Big Team, with big tradtion, fame, players worth much more than Legia (but only in money terms: comparing to Polish league). But do not underestimate Legia Warszawa. Warsaw never give up. The history during the second world war showed it, like Warsaw Uprising in 1944.

Our players neither - they never give up.
At our stadium we proudly sing: "unbeaten town, unbeaten team!"

It will be a tough, good match.
    Let the better team win.
I am sure that it will be Legia Warszawa :)!

I wish You all the best in Europe League.

Much respect to You, all the Celtic`s fans.

Good post and good English mate, just one tip: lose as in "to lose a match" is spelled with only one 'o'.

I'm sorry you had to see one of the worst EVER Celtic performances, normally we aren't anywhere near that bad but we have people in charge who have decided to sell all our best players and buy * to replace them. It's a crazy and sad situation at the moment.

    Thanks, AwesomeCaz.

Yeah :), I often make this mistake: "killer on the loose/lose", "loosers/losers", etc :), English is not my native language :)

Probably all the Polish fans know that feeling: when the heads of our clubs decide to "sell all our best players and buy * to replace them.", it is nothing new for us, sad story.

In Legia, this year, for the first time, we had quite different thing, it was exceptional: the head of Legia did not sell even one player, decided to keep them all. He did not buy anyone exceptional, only four average players BUT kept all the team from former year. For now it works but we want to play in CL, I think we must buy new players, now our team is too weak to win something in CL.

    Regards

I watched Legia once and identified their three main threats and also asked a couple of Polish guys. Radović, Kosecki, Zyro - the three goalscorers. We were so naive it's unbelievable. Our defending was awful. They ripped us apart.

    Tulf, forgive us :)
You know - if we won with FC Basel or Salzburg (comparable teams in football level terms) noone in Poland would give a shiiit to register at Basel or Salzburg forum :).

    Celtic is another story.....
in Poland Celtic is something different from other European teams, Celtic`s history, Celtic`s glory,
(and especially in Warsaw, you know: Holy Goalie was a Legia`s player), we are really proud that we won with famous Celtic, our Polish football is lately poor, good old days when Poland won the third place in World Championship in 1974 passed.....now we only lose, even having Lewandowski :), so when we win with Big Celtic, the euphory comes :)

Let us enjoy, we have our "five minutes" :)

Aye they same alright :smiley-laughing002:, to be fair they're 4-1 up and still showing a lot of respect, maybe something a lot of our players lacked last night.

We got a * kicking if we're being honest, destroyed all over the park mainly because our players were absolute pish but Legia deserve credit for how they punished it and to say 7-1 would've been a fair result is not being unrealistic.

Surely it can only get better, not ruling out a turnaround next week. However, I think we'll win but Legia will progress because I think at most, we'll win by 2. :54:

Watching the highlights made me more angry with mulgrew for * up for ambroses red card.
Where zyro was standing when he scored tge third goal was exactly were ambrose normally is when crosses comes in and the 4th goal would have been easily intercepted by the second central defender.

But with 11 men on park I dont think well concede another goal every team has a bad game and thats what happened last night . I think well have enough in us to beat them on Wednesday while staying tight at the back but 3-0 is going take the kind of luck legia had last night

Just re-watched the first half to see what 11 vs 11 was like.

    Random thoughts:

Legia scored 2 goals on 3 shots.

The red card came off a needlessly hard pass from Johansen to Mulgrew, who was in a decent amount of space. Mulgrew should've controlled it anyway, but Johansen did him no favor. Mulgrew lost it, they put a through ball in and Ambrose was scrambling.

They fouled us quite a lot when we were pushing in and around the final third. They're a physical team. This observation has given me a little hope that if we can get them on the back foot, they may start collecting cards.

    I'm not picky.
To be honest you caught us on a bad day as well. It could be (and I'm hoping it is) a completely different game next week and if Deila fields a good attacking formation (while being organised at the back) with the right players then you will see a different team.
