I dont think we are good enough for the CL, and this result is maybe a wake up call.If we scrape through, it will paper over the cracks.

It is a young team, a newish team, has a new manager and a great support, but they need help and patience. They have to regroup and quickly to make sure they get in that EL now.
If we lose the tie, there will be another maybe more important tie forthcoming rapidly.

I honestly dont think i want them to now qualify for the CL.....as i fear they just arent ready.

The EL would give Deila a chance to breathe a bit and still provide great nights for the fans.

This will be all just a bad memory when we go on to win the League Cup, the League, the Scottish Cup and the Europa League. You heard it hear first.

I'm talking about all competitions, not just the European runs. I accept that it was a great experience but I'm talking about all four competitions when evaluating our success that year.

I think the huns won both domestic cups the season they got to Manchester.

    I'm not picky.
Their team died, their new one is absolute guff, they are signing has-beens, and can't win a diddy cup so their only pleasure now is seeing us having a bad night in a competition they wish they could be in.

We were shocking tonight. Celtic simply shouldn't be losing to teams of the standard of Legia Warsaw by three goals, home or away. Not going to criticise Deila too much early doors but he definitely got it wrong tonight. Maybe down to inexperience I don't know..

Seriously missed Brown for a start. A midfield three of Mulgrew, Johansen and Commons lacked any real energy or bite which is why we were overrun. We were never forced to sit back due to them being able to peg us back with possession of the ball or incisive football, they simply just wanted it more, were first to everything and looked hungrier. If Kayal played from the start I don't think that would have been the case.

What was the logic behind playing Matthews ahead of Izzy? Considering Deila is all about attack and possession of the ball it made no sense at all. Izzy would have been much more comfortable going forward in hiss natural position in comparison with Matthews.

Also playing Berget was a bit of a * take aswell, how many sessions has he had with the team? Looked completely out of place and was non existent.

I love Commons, but I think in a tough game like this, away from home in Europe, he can be a bit of a passenger. Takes far too long on the ball and gets caught in possession allowing the other team to break through the middle. Think he gets left on due to the fact he's capable of scoring a goal or creating a chance out of nowhere but think it can hurt us when wanting to keep possession and take the pressure off. Next week will suit him more, I'd imagine we'll have most of the ball.

Would go with this next game

    Forster
    Matthews Lustig Van Dijk Izaguirre
    Mulgrew
    Kayal Johansen
    McGregor Stokes Commons

You know something, mate? Thst hun team that made the final was a * embarrassment to Scottish football. I was in Spain that year and watched that game on Spanish TV. Let me tell you that the Spanish commentators were asking each other (not cruelly, but in genuine bemusement) how such a rotten team made the final.

I have a lot of respect for your team of 2003, but please don't try to compare your awful team that fluked and bus-parked its way to the final in 2008 with our Seville team because it just makes you look stupid.

Now, we played 15 European games more than the huns that year IIRC and that kind of thing makes a difference over a season. Even with that and having played 120 minutes in searing Andalusian heat a few days before the decisive final day, we still lost the league on goal difference by just a single goal to probably the best hun team I remember in my lifetime (I'm 37). We lost the final only after extra time to a team far better than most UEFa cup finalists. 10 of that 11 would lift the CL a year later.

That's not a failure in my eyes.

I wouldn't mind Europa League because well still be playin teams much better than our domestic opponents plus we would be second seeds so we would do well in it but the difference in prize money is something lawell couldn't stomach and would probably get rid of every bit of quality in the team to make the accounts look good

To me success is about winning trophies. In 2003, while I was proud of the team for getting us to a European final, I was dissapointed we didn't win anything.

I agree I would rather play teams we have a chance of beating, rather than getting absolutly pumped in the CL and that really pains me to say that but it's our reality tbh
