Aye, dropping Izaguirre and bringing in Berget is two pretty massive calls, Izaguirre is one of the players you wouldn't even consider not being in the team, just assume he'll always be in.

real life isn't fifa, you can't just swap into formations without ever having played them before. A back 3 requires a great deal of understanding between the wing backs and the outside centerhalfs in order to make sure the opposition isn't finding too much space in between them while also getting good attacking play from the wing backs. If we'd been practicing that formation for months or even weeks then I'd be fine with it but its just not practical playing a formation that none of our players have played in in one of the toughest games of our season.

 

I am not sure we have yet developed great fluidity in moves . We have had Griffiths playing completely out of position . Mc Gregor starting off after he was away for a year and Pukki playing a main role that he hasn't previously.
I don't think Deila will think that he is breaking up the tried and tested .
I have had faith in Deila since he was appointed , surely he has to change things round , or else why change the manager .

Aye I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I respect the fact he's had the balls to go for it, I'd say a lot of managers would prefer to gradually introduce him into the side. I've confidence in Deila so I'm not ruling this as a poor decision already, I was just explaining why it's caught some of us by surprise.
