Id like to urge everyone on this board to send the following link by whatever means necessary, to every single Celtic Football fan you know, and also to any decent right minded person you know who would be appalled by the sickening campaign.

    www.members.aol.com/jocksteinletter

Please get as many people as you can to download and send these letters.

Its our duty to Jock Stein, who cannot fight this slur from the grave.

sorry pal, people may have different views but i am not going to stand back and let the scumbags cowardly sing about a dead man, a man who was and is the greatest man that will ever step foot in paradise.

ffs, i cant even walk to a game without seeing some sort of grafiti with refference to it. It will turn out to hurt them more than its hurting us

would it alarm you if i told you David Murrays own hired matchday band are playing this song with their "trumpet and drums" just think what that would do to them as a club if it came out in the papers

Davies right. This will only be more ammunition. Just think of your sibling when you were younger. If you make fun of them and they get annoyed you will keep doing it more and more. But if they ignore it. You lose interest after a while.

And do we want to go down this road?

I have been trying to ignore their sectarian bile for decades and it's not got me anywhere. The recent "improvement" regarding these problems at Ibrox, have only started because serious threats were made from heirarchy towards the existence of their club.

Naive in the sense that some people seem to think it would make no difference if others were to take actions (like boycotting radio stations). It may well only have been a lone voice speaking on radio, but it was to thousands of ears.

You mentioned on a thread that you knew the guy was a Celtic fan. That make it ok Martin? Not every listener who was offended by his comments, and more the case, those who thought it was great are wondering what team he might support.

No it doesn't make it ok. I did not say that, What I said was that it was possible, IMO probable, that the guy made a mistake. A stupid mistake, but a genuine mistake. I don't think that he, or the radio station, have an agenda against Celtic or to slur Jock Stein's name.

Given that as a boy he supported Celtic it seems unlikely that he would deliberately say something so insulting about Celtic. It is possible that he did not know what what that untrue expression means. It is not something which has really been written about. Unless you know that McKenna did what he did deliberately and maliciously?

I believe that he made a (stupid) mistake. And for me if someone makes a mistake, and we all make mistakes, then your reaction to it has to be appropriate.

The guy McKenna was on Real Radio hosting a show and a song had just finished and had a lyric or something which said "who knew". His response was "Big Jock knew". That is a slogan and song used by Rangers fans because somewhere in their warped minds they believe that Jock Stein knew about the Celtic Boys Club scandal whilst it was going on.
