I haven't posted in this thread in a while, but here's some updates and announcements for anyone interested.

Assassins Creed: Chronicles

Ubisoft announced last week that they're planning on releasing a three part series of side-scrolling games set within the Assassins Creed universe.

They'd previously announced a side-scrolling DLC set in China with the Unity Season Pass, but they've seemingly expanded the idea into three stand alone releases (the China Chronicle will be free for anyone who bought the Season Pass),.

I honestly think this is a waste of interesting settings to be honest. The Russian Revolution should have been a fully fleshed out main series game, and they've seemingly wasted it on a comic and a random DLC. The other two whilst perhaps not the most obvious settings for a game (although the best entries in the series so share that) sound interesting enough for one of the spin off games they do between main entries.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (?)

This one's a bit of a strange update, and could potentially be nothing but I thought it would be worth mentioning.

Apparently a secret Call of Duty Snapchat account has been found via symbols/messages found in Black Ops 2 following an update. The account apparently has a couple of videos with short cryptic messages. Black Ops 3, has previously been rumored (unsurprisingly) as the Call of Duty entry for 2015.

A few different sites have reported this, but this site seems to be the source the rest are citing.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

IGN have released a video showcasing the first fifteen minutes of gameplay of the Witcher

CD Projekt RED have also announced that the Witcher 3 will be getting two large expansion packs, the first of which will release in October and the second is due in the first quarter of 2016. Unlike the rest of the DLC which is completely free (16 pieces in total), the two expansions will carry a price tag.

Stoked theres another deus ex game coming out, loved human revolution.

 

If the next COD isn't WW2 I doubt I'll get it, they changed it up a bit this year with the futuristic setting and Exo suits which I think have been decent, but its been 7 years since World at War, would be refreshing if they went back to that.

 

Human Revolution was a really fun game, the ending and boss fights were the only real low points, and it seems like they've acknowledged the issues with the latter anyway.

I remember moaning about about World at War being another WW2 game, but it was probably the last truly good Call of Duty game (although I haven't played Ghosts or Advanced Warfare).

Present day warfare games have gotten rather stale (Spec Ops: The Line and Bad Company 1 & 2 have been the only ones I've enjoyed post COD 4) and I'm not really a fan of the pseudo sci-fi/future stuff in Black Ops 2 and Advanced Warfare. A good WW2 game or even something like the original Black Ops would convince me to buy a Call of Duty game again.

 

Would rather they done a decent Vietnam based game, with an awesome soundtrack to boot.

 

Wouldn't mind that either actually, I liked the first Black Ops. Even a mixture of the two would be decent. Modern Warfare been done to the death at this stage and futuristic warfare two years in a row would get boring.
