Wolfenstein has a bit of scifi added to it but that has a cracking story and is set in an alternate reality wher Germany won WW2. And you can pick it up cheap as well.

 

Looking out for some decent PS4 games at the moment. I only got my PS4 a month or so ago, and only have Destiny & FIFA - both of which got old, fast.

Just ordered Rayman Legends & Tomb Raider in the hope of a bit of nostalgia. They were both relatively cheap, too. Watch Dogs has been reduced to about £20. Ordered that, too, despite it's mixed reviews.

I've pre-ordered Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Far Cry looks excellent. I've never played any of the previous versions, but it doesn't look like you need to have. I've high hopes for Dragon Age, too.

 

Yeah, I thought about picking that up.

An Assassin's Creed style open world game in WW2 era Berlin would be amazing.

 

Tomb raider is class! Took me a wee while to get into but loving it now. I think who ever made it was a girl h8r though, big Lara get's the * kicked out of her every 10 minutes :smiley-laughing002:

 

Good stuff! Any idea what the gameplay time is like? 15-20 hours or so?

 

Definitely, they were quality. Are those Sniper games not set around killing *'s? Pretty sure you have to snipe Hitler at the end of one of them.

 

Probably more. I've played it quite a bit and only about 26% complete. There's a lot of collectibles and hidden tombs to discover as well.

 

Those Sniper Elite ones? They don't really look that great.

 

Yeah they're the ones. Not really seen much of them just remember at least one of them being set around WWII.

 

Playstation

Far Cry 3's a fairly good game, but 4 seems like pretty much the same game but improved.

I was pretty bored of them by World at War (although that was a decent game and probably the last good COD game) but I'd really like to see a new one.

It seems like the 'modern warfare' fad is just about over, but it's seemingly being replaced with the near future/futuristic shooters. It would be nice to see at least one WW2 game for something a bit different (which I couldn't imagine myself saying about a decade or so ago).

Dragon Age: Inquisition should hopefully be a good game. Origins was great and I enjoyed 2 for what it was, but hopefully the latest one lives up to it's promise.

If you're looking for other PS4 game Killzone: Shadowfall & Infamous: Second Son are decent, but fairly short. Both will probably be among the first retail games to turn up on Plus when they start offering them though.

Manuel Noriega (the former Panamanian dictator) has lost his case against Activision. The Los Angeles Superior Court has ruled in favour of Activison and thrown out the case.

Noriega was suing Activision over the unauthorized use of his likeness in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

I loved Skyrim, so I'm hoping Dragon Age is along the same lines.

Cheers for the recommendations I did have a look at Infamous, but it didn't really excite me.

 

The only thing putting me off Dragon Age: Inquisition is that you can control the 4 characters and the combat doesn't look very good.

 

Anyone played nevembers games for gold?

 

I dont really see the point in releasing platform side scrolling games i could play on my phone for the one...

 

I'm sick of both the ps4 & xbox one free games. I know they are free but they are crap compared to what we used to get on ps3/360. Even the quality of those has dropped in recent months.

 

No even downloaded any the free games on the One. Look so *.

 

Its only been out for 11 months you can hardly expect to them to give away big bugdet games for free that arent even a year old yet, thats why your getting indie games. The only reason PS+ on the ps3 was able to give games like uncharted, borderlands, dead space etc away for free was because they were all couple years old and they werent making any money on them anymore.

They are, all of them.

 

The 4 player bit isn't too bad to be honest, it's just like playing your own character (although obviously your companions can be a different class to yourself). If you're playing on normal or lower the only time you 100% have to play as one of your squad is when your own character is knocked out.

If you want to play tactically (and by the look of things some fights do require it) then you'll probably have to switch about a bit. The AI does a decent enough job most of the time, at worst you might have to reposition certain characters further away from the action or change to them to use a specific ability or something like that.

Although, if I remeber correctly in Origins & 2 you could 'program' individual companions behaviour and tactics so that they know what to do against specific enemies and how to react in certain scenarios. After you've done that you probably don't ever need to switch to them unless you're forced.

I agree with you about the combat though, it's always been a bit clunky. It's still decent, but if you're used to faster paced action games it can feel like a bit of a slog at times.

It's a good series though, probably in my top 3 from the last gen.
