Surely to * Bitton will be back in the side soon over McGregor?

I know a few folk aren't Bitton's biggest fan but surely you can see he's miles better than McGregor?

Think today was a wee boot up the * from Brendan in regards to Bitton, Brendan knows Bitton has got quality but he needs to up his game drastically and show the quality he has.

Hopefully Bitton will kick on from here.

Disaster today, was at fault with them breaking through many of times. Lucky to not have Sviatchenko sent off when he got caught up in possession.

Decent wee player but the amount of times he opts for the shot when it's the wrong option fries Ma brain

    He's just a 'meh' player.

Good enough to be a squad player but never going to hit the heights that really make you go 'wow'.

Get him loaned to the championship and then get a few million for him if he makes a success of it again. He is just not a fit for celtic.

What game were people watching? McGregor was great today, offers far more than Bitton for sure. We definitely do need a better balance in midfield, but he was integral in some lovely pacy football today.

Defensively poor, but kept the play flowing beautifully in my opinion. Mistake for the penalty incident was poor, but generally he's a great passer so doesn't worry me.

EDIT: For the record, there is still a big question mark over him in europe, has been anonymous in quite a few games. But I'd start him every week in the SPL, no doubt.

Problem is McGregor is a naturally attacking player who's always played quite deep, a role he'll never be fully comfortable in.
Great feet, good passing and a good shot on him. Good vision too when/if he's played in attacking positions. He's not strong or defence-minded enough to operate in the middle alongside Brown though.

If we never had Rogic i'd be playing McGregor at number 1-0 tbh.

    He's a hun?

He's been at Celtic for about 10 years why would he just now decide to jeopardise us? Must be the deepest cover hun ever!

Never been his biggest fan just because he has no weight about him, so easily knocked off the ball but he has had a few really good games this past year or two. His pass to Rogic for the first against Motherwell was class as well, there is a player there but not good enough for us imo.

He's always been good going forwards. It's his defensive qualities that let him down, that and at times against better opposition or when we're being pressed, he can adopt the "headless chicken" role.

I hear you. It's problem we all knew last 2 years. We have an abundance of "10's" - Rogic, Armstrong, McG, Commons, Henderson - did have Johansen - and none of them really good at pressing/defending/playing in the DM role. It is what it is and am sure BR will change things by this time next year.

Callum McGregor supported Celtic as a kid. No idea where this 'one of them' talk comes from.

McGregor is has real potential. Good player and a far better option than Bitton. Just a shame there isn't more competition for places and I dread to think where we'll be if Brown gets injured again.

This thread probably shows you how fickle football fans are, if Dembele doesn't * up the first touch and slots the ball away with McGregor's belter of a pass to him everybody is raving about him.
