Aye, he'd be great for Hibs but I think he's too good for that level.

I would think that if McGregor went to Hearts or Dundee Utd he'd probably prove to be one of the best players in the SPL, he's an intelligent player who's good on the ball - not quite Celtic class yet, especially as he mostly only ever played on the right for us when his best position is attacking midfielder or centre-mid in a 4-3-3. Where he can bring the ball through the middle use his passing and moving or get into the box for goals. He isn't fast enough or enough of a dribbler to play out wide.

I liked him in central midfield today.

In the guy's defence he is played out of position. His excellent season out on loan he was playing off the striker. Never a winger.

Played well in CM, looks a lot more comfortable in there than on the wing which is probably why he struggles sometimes out wide. Good back up for us but doubt he will stay probably loaned out or sold.

He will continue to make a good squad player.

He'd be a star performer if not the best player in the majority of other SPL sides.

Griffiths's team-mate Callum McGregor is a £350,000 signing target for English Championship side Rotherham United. (Sun on Sunday)
350k with buy back clause would work well.
If he develops into good player we could buy him back

    He's 22, it's not as if he's a teenager.

That's decent enough return for him to a level that will suit him.

sure his goal return as a 19 year old in league1 was impressive. he started off well last season too scoring couple in europe. he must be worth closer to a million. if he played for a championship side in england we would have to pay that to sign him.

350k with a 15 or 20% sell on clause if we really believe he's going to amount to something.

    I think that's fair.

He'll toughen up into a great player for us. The kid's got end product and great delivery into the box. Scores goals as well. He'll be a year fitter, stronger and wiser this time around. We've seen Scottish guys from poor teams in Scotland, go down to England and be worth £8-12million. In a couple of years, down in England, his head's screwed on enough to get better and better. A good season for MacGregor would see him valued at maybe £3.5million. Right now his form is on the up, and he's been patient. Doesn't get injured, stays out the press. With the new players probably suiting his game, everything is in place for him to do well this season.

He's just back from injury and the wide positions in our team are far from nailed down. Armstrong, Mackay-Steven and Forrest are very inconsistent, while Commons & Stokes are not natural wide players. McGregor will get a fair few games if he stays fit.

Looked far more comfortable in the centre of midfield when he came on got stuck in and was spraying the ball about quite nicely

That's the thing though, McGregor is never a winger in a million years either.

He's on a 5 year deal. Play him or punt him out on loan and get his stock back up..

Could easily get double what's been quoted after a half decent run. As he proved at Notts county when wolves were wanting him..
