You mean apart from the moves that end in goals that have him near the top of our assist chart every year?

That's what I said, no-one breathing down his neck, knows his place is guaranteed....

He's the best in my lifetime as well. Starting from 95.

At the same time though thats not overly impressive.

Mo Camara, Lee Naylor, Edson Braafheid, Badr El Kaddouri, Danny Fox, Stephen Crainey, Michael Gray just a few of the ballers we've had in recent times. Could also count Ulrik Laursen, Ross Wallace and Momo Sylla as left backs, they did play there.

Don't know about before my era, but I'm guessing the quality wasn't much better.

Best of a horribly bad bunch. A good player but nowhere near the player from 2010/11. He was literally, near enough perfect that season. However I mind the 2 times he was really tested was against Hayes at ICT when they beat us and Templeton ripped him a new * at Tynecastle.

He will be 29 next summer so we should be actively looking for someone else. Once he loses even more pace, which will happen soon, we are in trouble.

Again selective memory. Those "moves " you allude too are principally initiated and finished by Stokes. You overlook the alarming flaws in Izzy's game which has been detrimental to Celtic for some years now which I have highlighted.

I'm definitely not against bringing in a young player to deputise and eventually take over from him but * sake mate, he's 29 it's hardly over the hill.

No, the moves finished by Stokes are the ones that have him on or near the top of our assist chart.

It's not for most however for a full back who relies entirely on energy and some decent pace to bomb up and down though I think he will begin to decline alot quicker.

He has already visibly lost a good bit of pace since that injury.

You are still choosing to hide Izzy's defensive frailities, his wasteful crosses, and his lack of height at defending the back post. He is a shadow of the player he once was, and we can do a lot better.

I don't think he has, he still skins folk for fun just by knocking it by them and beating them for pace.

Lennon set his team up in such a way that Izzy had the freedom to bomb forward at will safe in the knowledge that a LEdley or Mulgrew would slot into his position and cover for him while he is upfield.

He's still allowed to bomb forward these days but has no one covering for him so leaves huge gaps behind him resulting in him looking like a horrible defender when in actual fact that has never been a strong point of his game.

If Ronny wants to use him a left winger then he has to cover his position when he is up there.

Said before and I'll say it again, I won't be over critical of McGregor while he is played out of position as a right winger, is he playing well...no he clearly isn't but what exactly do people expect from a young lad who is being asked to perform in a position he clearly isn't suited to ?

Fair enough but I don't think he does it as well as he used to.

This is for another thread anyway.:smiley-laughing002:

wouldn't be averse to him actually playing LW in the future and bringing in a LB.

    Stokes obviously, or Johansen
He's been harshly criticised in my opinion, he's not a winger and had an excellent start to the season. To judge him purely on the last few months in terms of determining his ability is useless.

Anyone notice the change in him tonight?

His face was thinner and he is leaner and stronger looking also, massive differance since I last seen him - basically looks the same as what Griffiths did when he came back into the team recently. Clearly been working hard on the training ground.

Neither am I, always seen him as Commons/Paul McGowan like where he's just too slow/stiff/not that fit. But looking at him tonight I though * he could come good.

Don't like him at all, think he's utter guff.

Although he did more tonight than he has in a few months. Beat a player.

Looked in better shape and went by a player or two when he came on. He was only on the pitch for 10 minutes or so but he was decent.

    Average now.

I had very high hopes after the form he showed down in England last year/the beginning of this season but..meh.

I see and know there is miles more potential in Henderson.
