Don't really rate Malaga, it might be because they could be much better but they're not, they're quite infuriating and Swansea seem to operate at there own level week in/week out.

And Chelsea have drawn 5 more than Barca, does that not even out that stat?

La liga will be dominated for the foreseeable future by Real and Barca with the odd case of Atletico hopefully making more progress year on year.

It's hard to tell how the premier league will go in years down the line.

and for the umpteenth time I never said they were, take your eyes away from wanking over a pie chart or a stats table for one second and learn to read a post.

and did I say wee Spanish teams are pish? naw, I said the disparity in la liga Between the top two and the rest far exceeds anywhere else.

edit: and this season looking at the relegation spots between la liga and Premier league look pretty similar

Anyway this is what my point was, I don't agree with the last line in the 2nd last paragraph however.

I couldn't give two * how Stoke would do against Malaga or how the teams come up against each other in Europe.

But its not as if that matters. It would only matter if Spanish wee teams were much worse than other big Leagues wee teams but theyre not, arguably they are the best wee teams despite them having less money than Italian, German or English wee teams.

Everton would murder Real, to suggest otherwise is crazy.

Peoples hatred for the EPL skews their opinion so much.

Again I'm not talking how teams transcend into other leagues, we or at least I'm talking about teams in their domestic leagues and nothing else.

Well it does matter, what do Almeria give a * about if they are better than Burnley or not?

Anyway Cazorla and Ronaldo seem to agree it's more competitive. :bbpd::smiley-laughing002:

Just to make it clear I am not saying the premier league is "better" I am merely saying the teams in the premier league are closer together through out the league thus making it more competitive.

It's not hatred - we're just tired with the nonsense they spout and having it forced down our throats. One if the best leagues no doubt though - of course.

You're looking at it monetarily though Tim. Mid table Spanish teams have just a good chance against the big teams as the mid table English do against their big teams. English teams just have more money but that doesn't mean the league is more equal or competitive. More equal in finances (kind of) but not ability.

It's incredible how many people arguing in favour of the English league overlook the fact that goal difference is irrelevant in Spain. For all the other teams it doesn't matter whether you get beat 4-0 or 8-0 by Barcelona or Real Madrid because you're not going to be close enough to them come the end of the season for the head-to-head thing to decide it.

I've never seen it in any other league. Poor team with nothing to play for fight back from 3-0 against title favourites to draw.

The English Championship is the most competitive league in the World consistently.

There is no other second teir that hosts clubs that big and it's always a close finale.

La Ligue the best technically and hosts the top two clubs in the World.

Fair enough. So you are saying you haven't seen it rather than it hasn't happened. Which I sort of what this debate has become.

    That's not actually true.

Barcelona have drawn 3 and lost 4.
Chelsea have drawn 8 and lost 2.

Real Madrid have drawn 1 and lost 6.
Arsenal have drawn 7 and lost 6.

Atletico have drawn 7 and lost 5.
Man City have drawn 7 and lost 7.

Valencia have drawn 9 and lost 5.
Man United have drawn 8 and lost 8.

Sevilla have drawn 6 and lost 8.
Liverpool have drawn 7 and lost 10.

PL top 7 average points 65.85.
LL top 7 average points 70.14.

PS: I do think the La Liga has better quality, I just think the PL is far more entertaining.

Historically La Liga is a lot less competitive.
    Premier League teams per 8.5
    La Liga teams per 9

    (League and FA cups)

Doesn't take into account 83% of Spanish trophies won in La Liga are won by only 4 teams. Only 44% won by the current top 4 in England. 55% by the top 4 in terms of trophies.
