You are twisting everything I'm saying so not going to continue with this nonsense after this...

Once again, anything can happen in football. I'm not willing to put the pressure of winning the treble on a new managers head neither am I going to want him hounded out of CP if he fails to qualify for the champions league.

If we win the treble and get to the last 16 then great, fantastic, tremendous. But for now I'll wait and see how he beds in, none of this side is his and he will need to obviously have a period to settle in and get to know the players.

    I didn't say the last 16.

I said CL Group stages and the treble and anything after that is a bonus.

Don't expect to to qualify for the CL.

    League and a cup.

Honestly though just hope to see some youth blooded and the start of his philosophy beginning to take shape. Better style of football and actually excite the fans.

Almost the same on my part. I do expect the league, though. Any reasonably competent coach should be capable of winning the league with our team. Apart from that, I think exactly the same as you.

You mean you don't expect a treble, champions league, world cup and world domination? :97:

I think it's going to be hard for a lot of fans if we don't get CL football. It's only a few weeks till the qualifiers and it's going to be Ronnys biggest challenge of the season.

The whole team is adjusting to Lennon leaving, so I will not throw a * benny like some will if we don't get through the 3 * ridiculous rounds that we now have to navigate (thank you and * you UEFA and Platini).

As long as Ronny starts showing that he's working hard to get the best from players, employs good attacking football and blends youth in regularly then that will be a start.

Yes he has to win the league and the Scottish cup would be nice......but trebles in the first season AND groups stages AND the league. Get a grip.

Honestly, just getting to the group stages is an achievement in itself, some of us can remember years of not getting to the 'big table' at all.

Still, I think it's going to be tough for Deila if he doesn't get us into the group stages, people have little patience.

You're acting as if a treble and Group Stage CL football is unrealistic? :97:

It should be the bare mininum requirement in the current domestic circumstances regardless if he's just come in as we have the players to more than achieve that sort of success.

Anything above that be it 3rd or 2nd in the Group etc is obviously a bonus and I understand that.

Probably having an off day like the entire squad were having in those particular games.

    Hang him!

In relation to expectations, the league is won so I'd hope we get much further than we did last season in the cup competitions, I'd honestly expect us to win at least one of them. Depends on how we strengthen or who goes this summer as to whether or not we can make it into the CL group stages again but there's no reason why this squad can't qualify for the EL group stages if it comes to it.

So my least expectations are the league, a cup and Europa League group stages. And also for the overall quality of our play to improve also.

Trebles are rare throughout our history for a reason. Regardless of what people perceive as a weak domestic challenge.

    Aw jesus here we go.

No I'm not mate will you please care to read my posts before jumping in all guns blazing on the defensive. I'm not saying its completely out of the question but to EXPECT that from a new manager, infact, just to expect that in general every season is crazy.

I'm sorry but it is, ask the vast majority of the fans on here and they will probably say the same.

I expect him to get the players to their peak fitness, i think quite a few players that stroll through the spl have got complacent with their fitness which shows up in Europe. I also think the squad in general needs a strict fitness regime, way too many niggly injuries during games and training, also seem to send a lot of people out on loan to reasonably small clubs who say the player isn't fit enough which I've always found quite shocking and worrying.

A club captain can't afford to have 7 off days like that over the last few years in the cups, that's not Celtic captain material in my eyes. I could exclude the game against oldco in the league cup final, we were unlucky that day.

But Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Morton, Ross County and Hearts though where he's meant to motivate the team to win these games and he failed miserably on all these occasions. I honestly don't get what fans see in him, remember he also played no part in our win over Ajax and our win over Barca as well. He is not as important to this squad as people think and I can see Ronnie edging him out the team as he won't be able to adapt to the football Ronnie wants to play as he's not capable imo, plus hes aging and is slow.

Yes with an Oldco in the league or even a strong Aberdeen at one time as well. There are NO excuses at the moment though over the last couple of years. There's been too many bad consistant results in the cups to ignore.

It is what I expect, but because I trust this manager so much and have a great feeling regarding him I will give some leeway.

Although saying that I fully expect him to achieve that kind of success because I trust him so much to do so, our best manager since Martin imo he'll be.

I agree our Cup record is poor in the last 3-4 Seasons. However I don't see why a new Manager should be put under pressure to win a treble because of that.

Fair enough I must admit I admire your optimism.

I am excited about his appointment as well but I don't want to overhype things so early into his time here that's all. End of!
