The Knust is a concert/club/event venue so it's not somewhere to go just for a drink really. It's where the Celtic Party is every year though nothing on this time.

Wakes playing after the game outside the stadium.

For pubs, the best three are Jolly Roger obviously, Shebeen and St Pauli Eck. Plenty of other pus you'll find Celtic stuff over the walls but those three are the real deal as opposed to others which have more or less latched onto the money to be made from us. No shortage of pubs all around St Pauli area so best to explore if you are about for a few days. Hamburger Berg is great Friday and Saturday early hours but watch your back there - genuine mad street at times.

For tourist stuff to do I'd defo try and make it along to the Miniatur Wunderland - really is exceptional. Also a boat trip from the harbour if the weather is nice. Also a few beach bars dotted around the place which are something different.

Area to watch out for is Hans-Alber Platz - it's where the London Pub is which is fine, but also the hsv pub called Tankstelle. Bit of a bad vibe in the area at the moment as hsv-hooligans attacked the Shebeen bar after the World Cup Final.

Also, this is on Friday night:

Panel talk and discussion (in English) with Celtic fans who have found a special connection with FC St. Pauli.

The event is part of the opening of the first temporary exhibition of the FC St. Pauli museum in the Gegengerade stand of the stadium and is hosted by Zeckensalon, a series of monthly held (fan) political talks in the Fanladen, and 1910 – Museum für den FC St. Pauli e.V., the association that plans and runs the museum.

FC St. Pauli is considered being a "neighbourhood club", although many supporters actually do not live in the district directly. A huge number of fans even live abroad. For them, the trip to the Millerntor takes much more effort than just stumbling out of the front door.
So why do they the time and effort, some of them for decades already? Is it "just" for having a nice weekend in St. Pauli, to stand on a terrace the old school way, downing some beers? Or is there more to it?

No doubt everybody has a different story to tell. Three guests will Three guests will talk about their connection with the Millerntor and St. Pauli as to get the discussion started:

Alan, supporter of FC St. Pauli since the 90s and definitely not just coming for the beer

Paul, singer of Glasgow based band The Wakes. The highlights of his connection to FC St. Pauli include singing YNWA at the end of the big centenary festival inside the Millerntor

Alan White, social worker from Glasgow who founded the football team United Glasgow FC to promote anti-discrimination and financial inclusion of refugees and socially deprived persons through football

The Fanladen will open at 8 pm, we'll begin the talk at about 8.30 pm.
After the event, Paul and Chris of The Wakes will play a couple of songs in the Fanräume next door.

Btw: the official social initiative of FC St. Pauli "KIEZHELDEN" will raise money for United Glasgow FC on the day of the friendly match. More information about the initiatives: http://unitedglasgowfc.eu/ http://www.kiezhelden.com/

I can't see why not! I doubt the German police would be pedantic enough to confiscate cameras! I don't even think Strathclyde Police are even that bad!

Hopefully Watt finally gets a start to put himself in contention for Legia.

Do you not think it's relevant to this thread, mate? Don't mean to be a *, but I thought it seemed relevant to the thread and I actually think I agree with him too: I'd also like to see Watt in contention for Poland (especially if Stokes doesn't make it!) and at the moment he hasn't had enough game time to be risked in a game of that importance. It'd be nice to see him get at least an hour against St Pauli.

If they don't mind you smoking a joint I'm sure a camera would be acceptable.

He needs to get his match fitness up, that's no doubt, he is a valuable player to have in contention, whether you think Finny is a * or not.

    I want him starting.

It's his sole contribution to every thread. He just cycles between how great Stevie May is, how great Tony Watt is and how poor everyone else is.
