Not sure if you're travelling on your own or with pals, but here's a tip for you. At Bremen station you can buy a group ticket to Hamburg which is valid for up to 5 people, it costs about 28 or 30 euro if I remember correctly. Much better value if there's a few of you than each buying singles for like 14 euro.

We are three Swedish Celtic fans traveling 1000 km by car to Hamburg. Anyone know where to drink some beers before the game?

 

Long trip (my mate will be driving 650 km, while I take the plane).

Good question about where to drink. I think/hope there will be pubs around the stadium and I understand there is party after the game next to the stadium.

Anyone know any specific locations?

 

I'm not going mate so I'm not 100% sure, but last time I was over, a bar/club called Knust had stuff on. I'm not sure if they have this time, but I would imagine they will. Shebeen Bar was another. The Jolly Roger was busy, but didn't have anything on. I would look into Knust though, as I'm pretty sure they will have bands on.

 

Yes, quite a trip. We are going to buy loads of beer and whisky in Puttgarten (many Swedes go for a beer run every summer), so business with pleasure one could say.

Hopefully Celtic will start with an interesting squad and it will be a good game even though it is a friendly.

There will be a big pishup in most of the bars around the St Pauli area. Knust (at Feldstrasse U-Bahn station), Jolly Roger (just opposite the Millerntor) and the Fanladen (inside the Millerntor complex) will all be good for a pishup.

 

Buzzing like * for this! Will be my first time in Germany! Seems like an amazing country.

 

Is there anything else worth doing in Hamburg outside of the football? Over for a few days.
