I'm not writing him off mate, I just don't think he is capable of reaching Denayer's level. Denayer for me is better defensively, and better with the ball at his feet. Basically, just an all round better player. That's not having a dig at Boyata though, because Denayer was a class act in my opinion. I'm still not convinced by Boyata however.

Pretty much. The manager gets the praise when he gets it right, the buck stops with him, as it should.

Cool, glad we got that sorted out then.

Can't wait till Ambrose makes a mistake that costs us a game so I can log right into the Deila thread to blame him :47::47::47::47:

Ronny approached Malmo and Molde with arrogance, football styles and cultures he should have known inside out.

The preparation and tactical setup was * and we've taken a gamble leaving him in post.

However there is something about Ronny, his arrogance and single minded approach could yet deliver greatness.

Now we should get behind him and see where it takes us..

No Manager under this system (buy low/sell high, roll the rice purchases) will deliver greatness.

    Its delusional.

Mate what else can we do thinking Celtic can deliver greatness in Europe is just as delusional. Think about it teams like Ajax have twice the amount of transfer money to spend. Simply can't compete.

So Dnipro? Getting to a European final with less revenue. Aye okay.

Neil Lennon and WGS seemed to do it okay.

They play in an incomparably better league, pay higher salaries and players barely pay any tax there, aye.

WGS wasn't 'recommended signings' to purchase for 'monetary purposes'.

Lennons height was beating Barca, was great. Because of breaking up the squad and the Board not giving him enough capital to re-invest during a engineered transitional period he left.

Can't really compare WGS' situation to Celtics current. Lennon did well, once.

There are always going to be exceptions to the rule though, aren't there? Wasn't that the first time that Dnipro had ever made it to a European final?

    :smiley-laughing002:

Get their salaries out and prove it, they pay 20% tax rate I know that. Half of what we pay.

WGS was downsizing from O'Neill and came up against teams vastly outwith his budet.

You need the right players and the right manager however I have seen good managers perform well with poor players and good players perform poorly with a bad manager. Having a good manager is massively important to Celtic Football Club as navigating those qualifiers should be within reach of any manager worth his salt. We probably have a much better squad than even the hardest of banana skin ties we could face. Organisation and not giving your opponents a sniff is the key to these games and having a manager that understands this is vital.

I absolutely * hate this logic that dictates any side we come up against in Europe who don't have as high a budget as we do should lose to us.

It's absolutely * mental, especially when football is littered with examples of sides with smaller budgets and less skilled players beating larger sides.

I dont know if it was their first, but what I do know is they done everything they can (in the recruitment side of things) to get the best quality possible within their budget, shame ours is an alternative between Mark Lawwell, Dudu Duhan and Dundee United while some are dedicated to lying to themselves that we can't do better.

OG I couldn't agree more but you have to agree Malmo are a good team, we played well against Ajax and Fener; Molde was a complete disgrace. But we lost both of our CB's which cost us I think.
