Aye, I wouldn't mind that to be fair. The odd player like that I would be happy with, I wouldn't be wanting us to have a team predominantly made up of players around the 29-30 mark though. The hardest part nowadays though, would be finding a good experienced player who wouldn't want big wages. I'm not sure what JVOH would have been on, you any idea?

You sir are a dinosaur that has no clue about football or the state the game is in. Every message you put out is negative. Can't you just be happy with an 8-1 drubbing without being negative? "it really is simple" No, no, it's really not.

Indeed you were and in fact I defended you by PMing the mod who banned you asking could it be lifted as I dont take anything you say seriously as you behave like a drunken mouthing 10 year old acting hard. He appreciated the fact but said you broke the rules so the ban stood.

Also you are making a fool of yourself by calling me a hun. First if you believe it you are a moron and second if it is your only defense against me ripping you, well!! Now enough with the hun chat and insulting my elderly mother and run along little doggy.

I think JVoH was on a fortune for us, in relative terms. We signed him as an established Champions League player, playing for one of the best International teams in the world. Really came up trumps for us in Europe as well. Was a leader on the pitch, it's those kinda experienced signings, at their peak, that can help the young guys through in Europe.

Guys who know when to slow the game down or hold onto the ball or when to hold the ball up or go for it. His goal at Old Trafford is one of the best I've saw for us in Europe.

You called me a hun on this very thread by telling me to go back to the hun forums and calling me orc1. You are a different kind of stupid. Typical of you to cowardly try and weasel out of it. Have the * balls to admit to it.

I agree with that, and I loved JVOH. I'm not sure what he would have been on, but I would hazard a guess it would be more than any player we currently have, and well above our wage structure. We would need to break the bank to sign a guy like that these days.

Who the * care about an arbitrary wage cap set by a man on EPL money. We can afford to pay for those players. Getting the CL cash that those players improve the chances of means we can sign more of them.

My point is, there is bang average experienced players nowadays on mega wages. Take Steven Fletcher for example. Finding a good experienced player, on reasonable wages is becoming harder and harder. They also have to want to come and play in Scotland to begin with, another stumbling block.

Fair play to you by the way, last night's performance has been forgotten about already on this thread.

Good points but that does not explain why we have abandoned this as a matter of policy. This has been stated by numerous sources within the club who all used similar language indicating that they were reading from a script. It is never ok to not sign the kind of players we are talking about. It is one of the most important things to do when building a team.

If we had totally abandoned it, we wouldn't have signed an experienced player in Carlton Cole.

No totally different. He is in the over the hill but cheap and still valuable category.

Read the book soccornomics also called "why england lose", in it you will find our signing policy blueprint to a tee.

It's not totally different. He is an experienced player who has played at a good level for pretty much his whole career. If, as you say, we have abandoned the idea of singing experienced players, then Cole would not be here.

I am very pro youth but I feel very strongly in having 4 or 5 Scott Brown types in the side. It is a direction that pains me to see us moving away from.
