Another RIDICULOUS Manager of the Year award - to John Hughes
For what .......... coming in third in the league, getting to the FINAL (nothing won yet!) of the Scottish cup - and that only because of a dodgy non-call.
vs - Champions and League Cup Double and Euro post-group stage with an extremely credible performance again Inter.
Same as when Lenny failed to secure it with similar record

Would Ronny have got it if he'd got the Treble? You have to wonder ..........

I genuinely think that's quite a cool name for a girl. Veronica's get called Ron or Ronny , but i think Ronny on its own could be a good name . It's a modern world after all :icon_mrgreen:

But Gordon insists any early stutters were born on the pitch, not in the
Lennoxtown canteen.

He said: “When he first came in, he was trying to get his style of play across to the players in pre-season as well.

“So you couldn’t just go straight into the fitness work. He wanted to put the tactical side across as well.

“That was probably taking a bit more time to make sure he got that right and got the messages over.

“With everyone knowing exactly what’s expected now, we can look
forward to having another crack at the Champions League.”

Despite the early teething troubles under Deila, Gordon reckons Celts would have dined at Europe’s top table this term had Stefan Johansen not got in the way of Virgil van Dijk’s header against
Maribor in Slovenia.

He said: “We should have won the game against Maribor over the two legs. I remember our Player of the Year heading one off the line for them
over there – and that would have been two away goals.

“It’s little things like that which can come back to haunt you. We almost did make it and we want to have a good shot at getting to the groups again.

“There are bound to be comings and goings in the summer. There always are at a club like this. If we can strengthen and get better then it’s all going in the right direction.

“We’re more settled and know what the manager wants, both in attack and defence. We’ll have a better idea of what we’re going into this time.”

The easy-going Norwegian may have become known as the Deila Lama for his mental approach to life as well as football – but Gordon insists he does have another side.

He said: “Yes, he definitely has a
presence. He’s a big guy and last week at Tannadice he came in at half-time and had a bit of a go. He got a really good reaction in the second half.

“He has very seldom used that,
probably only once or twice the whole season. So it’s effective when he does.

    “He’s very good tactically. The
gaffer normally likes to leave things to the next week when we’re back in and shows us things then.

“He stays relatively calm to get his message across. It has become clearer the more we work on things and he has done a fabulous job.”

Love this man. I hope he stays for years to come. I've always wanted us to have a manager who goes on for 10+ years at the helm. He could be our man to deliver the European silverware we so desperately want.

Also, on a side note, his reaction when Biton scored that wonder goal the other night was a delight to see. Legend in the making.

I think it's a disgrace that a manager who has won nothing (to date) is chosen ahead of a manager who won the title and a cup.

If coming 3rd in a league, and reaching a cup final is now rated more successful than what Deila has achieved in his first season, then I'm puzzled.

There is very few football men who would not guide us to the title and that is the truth.

This award is for managers who have gone above and beyond.

I think the accies manager went above and beyond what was expected of him as did yogi and McInnis.

I would have picked McInnis as the sheep were genuine title contenders for most of the season.

However it is still a fair call as ICT have had a great season by their standards.
