I would prefer Laudrup. If it is Keane then he better not get paid millions more than Lennon!

If it is truly the case that most of the players Celtic sign are signed as a result of collaborative discussions between Peter Lawwell and John Park then it still really surprises me that Roy Keane would even consider taking the job. He just doesn't seem like the sort of character who would be happy to work under those conditions. He's so single minded and egotistical that you'd have to assume he would want to make his own signings and not have players handed to him from above.

This is the thing I find most interesting about the possibility of Keane getting the job.

Will the board agree to back off a bit and allow Keane more input than Neil Lennon had when it comes to new signings?

Has Keane's stock fallen so far that he would take the job even though he wasn't entirely happy with the way Celtic handle player recruitment??

Interesting questions that I'd love to know the answers to.

I think if it is Keane, it'll mean the end for Big Mad Efe. I'm gutted to say that as the big man has become one of our most entertaining players and one of our nicest characters. There's just no way Keane would tolerate him gifting the opposition goals and mising team coaches etc. I also think Mjällby put in a lot of work with Efe and it showed. With Mjällby gone, will his improvement continue?

Really,a manager who would get rid of a player who has lost the team vital points and games, that would make keane a right *.
Nice guy or not,if you * up to often, you deserve to be punted

I'm happy with Keane if it's him. Personally I think the footballing positives Efe brings to the team outweigh the negatives, Lenny clearly did too. I'm just fairly sure Keane won't see it that way. I only mentioned what a great guy Efe is as an extra reason I'll be gutted to see him go. Obviously I know we can't keep people just because they're top blokes.

I think we all have a soft spot for EFE,but he can be a liability at times, mostly Europe.i also will be behind keane,IF he gets the job,be nice to see someone tell PL to go * himself,Lenny was always a bit of a yes man from day 1.

    Exactly.

Come to accept that Efe will balls up every now and then. As you say, his positives outweigh the negatives. He's a good player.

One thing is for sure, McCoist will not be whispering things into his ear on the touchline :smiley-laughing002:

Keano would just lay the fat * out on the pitch.

What on earth are you rambling on about constantly?

Accept the fact that some people have very strong reservations about Roy Keane's managerial ability and move on.

i'm an efe fan too :50:

imagine trying to get a defender as composed, 2 good feet, good solid defender, athletic, good in the air and fast to stay at celtic in these days of financial madness

yeah he gets a nosebleed at times and gets caught on the ball but it doesn't outweigh his other attributes

    I voted yes.

Reasons being mostly for his transfer dealings.

Yes he will rip into shitebags and get them to perform.
But does he tactical knowledge to succeed in Europe? I don't think so.
His transfer dealings have been appalling, he does not have an eye for a player at all.
If park and Lawwell were responsible for that side of things I think it would work out.

I know he is Irish and he wanted to play for us, but is he a massive Celtic fan like really really?

I didn't want Lennon, Mowbray or Strachan so that just shows how good I am a judge of managerial quality, and I will eat a * load of humble pie of he is successful, but I just don't think he will be.

    Still hope it's someone else.

Tis a shame though because Roy Keane was who I tried to play like when I was a kid. Midfield maestro (and a dirty * :56:)

I would be mortified if he became boss and was let loose with a few mill..

43 plus on that drivel at sunderland was enough to convince me for life alone, that he's not good enough or the man to take us forward..

I think that the bigger question is why Mcguire keeps using two full stops for every sentence.

I would be quite disappointed if as it now looks likely we ended up with Roy Keane as manager. But unlike say when Griffiths joined, I'd still back him and want him to do well. I feel that his problem as a manager is that the players he was in charge of just weren't at the level he had come to expect throughout his playing career at Man Utd, and I worry that will be his problem here.

I don't want him to be the Manager but he'll have my 100% backing until it becomes apparent that I and everyone else were right about him.

That being said I hope I'm wrong because the club has to keep progressing.

I'm pretty stunned by the negativity surrounding him here.

I know it's a risk but * sake bhoys, how much of a risk was Lenny?
