I'm sure it was in a newspaper (the Herald?) about him and Keane earlier this week....apparently Larsson wants to see out his contract first, he is in a relegation battle atm and doesn't want to leave his team in the lurch.

Larsson contract runs out on November 2nd when the Swedish league ends.

I'd love that to happen, as an assistant the pressure would be right off henke and it would be a class move having a great/striker back in that capacity on the touch line..

It's a win-win though. He's not an expensive option. Not that I'm complaining.

Really excited to see how he does. Think he will do a great job. Done brilliant in his time with Strømsgodset, so hopefully he will do great things here.

Hmmm, local media in Drammen, which usually is very well informed about Strømsgodset, now saying that the clubs still have not come to an agreement.

    National paper VG is writing;

"The Strømsgodset board are disapointed that Celtic don't want to pay what the club feels is a decent sum to let their coach go one month before the club for the first time in their history is playing qualification for the Champions League.

At the same time Ronny Deila is very eager to become the new Celtic-manager. Celtic have a clear wish to present the 38 year old as their new manager friday. Now the question is if they dear to do that if his working condition with Strømsgodset is not ended in a clear way.

    Rough start

The whole process came to a bad start when Celtic asked for permition to talk to Deila without the two clubs agreeing on a settlement. Then the first bid, thought to be shameful worsened the climate even further."

Not on?? Would be very surprising at this stage..

I think the appointment of an unknown quantity like Deila really shows up who are the glass half full kinda people and who are the glass half empty type. :smiley-laughing002:

I myself am somewhere in the middle. I'm not that excited by the prospect of some Norwegian guy I've never heard of becoming Celtic's manager but at the same time I'm willing to give him the chance to show what he can do before I judge him.

The odd bit though is the rumour of Collins being asst mgr?
That just seems bizzarre, surely it's likely they've never even met?
I wonder if that would really happen?
The manager/asst relationship is surely a crucial one - you would think he would want his own man (whether that be someone he is currently working with, or from past somewhere)
Also, I wonder if Danny will be back, especially after his scare?

I think they're behind the curve - there is no way he would on plane to Glasgow - as his bags would clearly indicate - if the compensation had not been agreed.

I don't think you need to be a glass half full type to get excited after reading up on this guy.

Not so sure, VG printed this story after midnight, the same journalist that initially broke the story. Their top news story now. I have no problem with seeing Godset allowing Ronny to go and talk with Celtic even though the clubs have not agreed on a settlement.

But would be amazed if this was to stop the deal now..
