    What preposterous nonsense :icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen:

Are we paying people to just post the most ridiculous * they can think of?

An ability to deal with "Razor Sharp Media Hacks" is one of the three most important qualities to be a Celtic manager? Hahahahahaha - my sides!

"Prior knowledge of what it means to play for Celtic." For * sake how long is this wafer thin ploy going to be used by people who don't understand the game. Celtic are a football team and a great football manager, regardless of his background is perfectly * acceptable to manage them.

McCoist sure know's "how to play for Rangers (RIP.)" Miller "knew how to play for Aberdeen." This sentimental claptrap is what hold us back from progression. A neanderthal desire to cling to things we "know" rather than "change" things.

Know's "how to deal with top players" for * sake! We have some good players for sure but I'd struggle to think of more than one or two who are "top" players. Yep, James Forrest et al must only be managed by "top managers" less they will drop their tiara's and demand to be managed by the likes of Owen Coyle (he knows Celtic you see.)

Let's face it. EVERY point is complete horsecock, written by someone very * keen to put the knife into an appointment before it even began.

    Why, who knows.

"This guy will not cut the mustard at Celtic." You are a deidco's wet dream. Not the slightest whiff of optimism. Just keen to get the boot in early.

Talkceltic, my eternal gratitude for the ignore button. No, really. For that alone I will donate every year. :50::shamrock:

I'm still amazed he put Lennon and O'Neill in the same bracket as Stein.

Dont know what to make of this expected appointment because this guy is coming from a club that is tiny in comparison to Celtic and has to be seen as a major risk by the board. He has little or no knowledge of Celtic or Scotland, no CL Experience and is tbh the cheapest of cheap options out there

You do not need prior knowledge of celtic at all ; that is a complete myth that has snowballed in the last few years , just a buzz expression for me . He does not need to be a Celtic man , celtic minded . He needs to be a football man , he needs knowledge of football , tactics , reading oppositions , understanding players. Ronny Deila has these things from what i can see .
Unfortunately he does not need experience of " dealing with top players " either. We have none . He needs to be very adept at seeing a player with potential and helping him become a good footballer , and helping the team and the players progress. Ronny Delia has shown he has these qualities.
Ronny is tailor made for the Celtic job in 2014. Working on a budget to overachieve seems to be how he made his name , and that is what we need him to repeat here. Maybe 15 years ago we needed a different type of manager , but right now , Delia is a very good selection.

And , also putting Lennon in the same bracket as Stein is an insult to the mans memory.

There is one obvious reason why some managers are out of work. To me the cheap and predictable option would have been going for Coyle etc because they are freely available. We've went out the box with this appointment. It might work, it might not. But it's ambitious. I'm looking forward to it.

If he makes a * of it, my thinking would be Henrik will be in the minds of Lawwell ect come November, they might be prepared to gamble knowing the League is basically won before it starts, but i wish the guy every success

Probably the most ridiculous and awful post I've ever read on here and that is saying something. The poster Roy Keane's response is a fine taking apart of one gigantic heap of *.

Laughable. Guy isn't even in the door and you are already writing him off. Quoting Barnes is absolutely hilarious, so that didn't work out? who gives a * it was 15 year ago:smiley-laughing002: Does that mean we should never ever EVER take another risk in the future? Ofcourse it doesn't.

    Wim Jansen anyone?

Fact is, we will win the league.I will quite confidently say that right now call it arrogance or whatever but it's the truth. No other side has the quality or experience to go and beat us. He will be judged on qualifying for europe but even then I think that is unfair seeing as the first one is less than what, 6 weeks away?

I take it you are one of those who wanted an apparently 'safe' bet like Coyle? A 'Sellick' man, get him in! That mindset is incredibly dull and will get us nowhere. Yes, it might see us continue down the same road and win the league year after year but in terms of changing the philosophy of the club, playing good football and signing young talented players, someone like that is not going to do.

NOW is the time to appoint a more left field candidate. * knows we need all the excitement we can get in this league.

Contrary to reports here in Scotland, Norwegian media saying compensation of around £300k agreed bet @celticfc and Stromsgodset for Deila.

Deila just sounds like the perfect match. Young, has some experience, plays exciting football and promotes youth. Plus the fact he seems to be a bit of a mad * - what's not to like?
