I hope his assistant manager isn't going to be called Ronny as well. I couldn't cope with Celtic being managed by the two Ronnies.

So every manager who goes from a smaller club, to a bigger club in a different country, fails?

    Okay :50:

I know, I'm dying to read who his pick was- a European experienced Celtic fan manager, loads of them about.

From what I've heard he instills a fast paced passing game, that's easy on the eye. I think Mikey was suggesting that because he played with a tall forward, that they must have played hoof ball.

Someone earlier put it perfectly, would rather have an unknown successful European manager than a failed manager who is a Celtic man.

For me, to manage Celtic you have to have 3 key qualities:

    1. Prior knowledge/experience of what it means to play for Celtic. This may mean playing for (even against) Celtic in the past. You must understand the mentality of the fans who demand passion, dedication and ability to beat the other side (the old rangers) on a regular basis.
    2. An ability to deal with the Razor Sharp Media Hacks in this country. Every question is loaded, every word you say is scrutinised.
    3. Experience in dealing with top players, who's attitudes/mentalities must all be controlled to the benefit of the team.

A good manager will have 2 of these (Strachan), a great manager will have 3 (Stein, O'Neill, Lennon).

The new manager has none of the above in my opinion.

    Absolute drivel.

Going by that, pretty much every manager we will ever have must have played for us.

My choices for manager were easy:

If you want experience you go to Gordon Strachan again. If you want a prospect manager you go for Mjallby, if you are pushing me for a third pick - John Kennedy.

How much do you know about Deila? Must be a lot to rule out statements 2 and 3.

Lenny and MON shouldn't be in the same sentence as Stein. And they shouldn't be higher than WGS

As for your list. It's nonsense.

Right well O'Neill fails on number 1 and before Celtic, probably number 3.

Lennon fails on number 3 as a manager.

We could not afford a top European manager. The managers who were touted (Coyle and Mackay et al), what European experience do they have? They are failures.

Deila managed to get his team a cup and take them to a league win for the first time in 40 years (or there abouts), with only 10% of the budget of Rosenberg. He can spot a player, he can develop players. They play good football aswell.

We can't afford already made gems but we may just have an up and coming diamond in the rough.
