Well I won't be the one frothing at the mouth when the new manager loses us £20m in his first month in the job.

I wish him the best, I honestly do, but I'm realistic and this guy is not going to cut the mustard at Celtic, maybe at Stromgodswhatever...

He has done more than lennon when he took over.
Lets give the guy a * chance before running him out of town with pitch forks.

It's not just winning the league that's impressive. It was the team's progression under him going from an 11th/12th club in 08/09 and steadily climbed to second in 2012 and winning it last year.

So realistically speaking you expect a manager to fail despite knowing absolute nothing about him? Yeah.... erm, ok dear....

Why can't his philosophies translate to success at Celtic? :97:

He likes to play fast attacking football...

He likes to talk to his players individually on a weekly basis...

He has success at taking young players and developing them into winners. Johansen and a league title is proof of that....

    Why can't he do well?

I supported Neil Lennon because he had played, captained and coached at the club.

I think this is a major major gamble to bring in a prospect, who had no prior knowledge of the club.

The Norwegian League is as good as the Northern Irish League.

I'll back him, but I won't be surprised if it goes wrong. Celtic is a unique club and I just can't see what this guy can bring that someone who knows the club inside out can bring.

That's precisely the point I've made. It's all speculation, but there's nothing 'complex' about what I believe has gone on as opposed to your version.

Celtic and Lawwell should have made no comment. They don't release hurried statements on speculation regarding managerial appointments and players signing any other time, and they shouldn't have done so last week. The timing, as well as the ridiculous '5 to 10 candidates' comment spoke volumes for me.

It's really not a difficult concept to grasp. Look at the rather coy comments attributed to Larsson, the comments from O'Neill, the FAI, the actions from Keane, the fact that it's Dermot Desmond who tends to appoint the managers. As I said, it wouldn't be too difficult to see why someone might come to the conclusion I have, so long as they don't need an 'official' statement/story to believe.

You have to give him a chance. A wee bit radical thinking by the club for a change ?

I was not happy when Lennon was appointed and felt, with no Sevco, we should have won everything, but we did not.

    Perhaps now we will.

    Patience.

Rather a successful unknown Manager than a known British failure.

Some of the Celtic fans on here are starting to sound like English Premier League fan boys, who cares were he comes from, he has a strong CV and has worked wonders at a small club and deserves the chance to step up. He ticks all the boxes imo.
