Alex O'Henley - Deila flying to Scotland tomorrow, to formalise the deal.

Lawwell probably looked at the TalkCeltic site, saw the poll and thought

"* those sods for slagging me off all the time. Hope they put money on their favourites. I'll go for somebody i've never heard of to spite them" :icon_mrgreen:

    Blood is boiling.

    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-hotseat-ronny-deila-turn-3647333

Celtic hotseat: Ronny Deila will turn Bhoys into Bayern with his attacking style, says ex-Hoops ace Vidar Riseth.

    (1) He didn't say that. He said "if you look at Bayern Munich then that is the way Ronny likes to play." He compared his style to Bayern's, nothing more.
    (2) If this guy fails and is sacked in record time, then this is an article of Keith Jackson-esque proportions.

Why the * do the rags persist with this *?

Ever heard a Swede or Norwegian try and speak English, though?

    It's guttural.

Excited by this! I just hope he qualifies for the Champions League because I fear how the fans will react if he doesn't, when in reality it is a distinct possibility we won't qualify, regardless of who is in charge.

The combination of tougher possible opponents and not playing at Celtic Park make it more difficult this year. That's not denying that on paper we should have a good chance though.

What do people feel is a reasonable amount to ask for in his first season?

IF its Deila then i would be happy to see the league won easily and our style of play change to what he has done at Godset. Cups would be a bonus and a run in europe be nice too but not paramount....at the moment

I feel the same way mate, hoping we qualify for CL as the fans will turn against him straight away if not. He must win the league that's all i will expect from him in his first season

What's the 'hard evidence'? A hurried, poorly worded statement on the Celtic website and a bizarre comment from Peter Lawwell?! As I said, I'll take that with a pinch of salt, just as I will the reports in the media.

But taking the comments of people like Larsson, Keane, O'Neill, the FAI, the fact Celtic seemingly broke their policy of commenting on speculation with a hurried statement and ridiculous comment- I'm sure you'd forgive someone for joiningg the dots and coming to the conclusion that Ronny Deila from Stromgodset probably wasn't at the top of Dermot Desmond's or Peter Lawwell's list! Not that I'm saying that's a bad thing.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has flown to Oslo to thrash out a compensation package, with Ronny Deila on the verge of becoming the club’s new manager, STV has learned.

Lawwell has been negotiating with his Stomsgodset counterparts in the Norwegian capital, with the Scottish champions closing in on the man they want to succeed Neil Lennon.

STV understands Celtic’s first offer of compensation for the 38-year-old was not met with approval with negotiations continuing throughout the day.

Deila is expected to travel to Glasgow tonight to complete his move with the Hoops hierarchy keen to finalise an agreement.

Gotta love * like Walker, Burley, Provan ect, take the money and once they leave never have a good word to say about the club, Maybe Davie would like to give us all back the money from his benefit game, * freezing cold night and a farce of a game into the bargain

This would be a scandalous appointment by our board. Does nobody remember all the raping and pillaging the Vikings did in Scotland and Ireland? It's a complete betrayal of our Celtic heritage. :38:

Quite excited by this tbh. Him and Collins could work out pretty well but at the same time would prefer him to bring in his own * Man
