But the papers are all full of * unless it lets some people slag our board some more then it turns to proof.

How could he turn down what hadnt been offered?

He was considered... along with other candidates. He didnt want to be considered, he wanted the job, and the guarantee, a promise of consideration wasn't enough for him.

MON didn't and doesn't give a * if Keane leaves Ireland. If anything he might be getting fed up having to field questions about what Keane is going to do or not, he'd rather be talking about his team and his players.

Celtic spoke to Keane and when they told him what the transfer budget would be like he said he didn't want to be considered. He turned it down and decided to stay with Ireland and wait for an offer from the EPL or the Championship.

Larsson is another guy with a strong independent mind, he might take it in a few years maybe.

Apart from paper talk where is the proof celtic offered him or larsson the job.....Actual proof not just some * in a paper.

Come on now, they were utterly bizarre statements, as was the timing. Celtic did not have to make a statement at all- they don't do it when there is speculation surrounding a potential new signing, they didn't have to do it last week.

I think the club got a lukewarm reaction from Keane when he was offered the job, and fearing he would reject it quickly scrambled a statement on the website, and forced Lawwell into making a ridiculous comment about '5 to 10 candidates'(?!) in order to try and save a bit of face, particularly after it has appeared Larsson knocked the job back as well.

That's one * of a complex story you have in your head from not a lot of evidence. Let's look at the actual facts.

1) Keane was a candidate
2) Celtic released a statement and Lawwell gave an interview confirming that he was a candidate but denying that he was the preferred candidate or indeed that there was a preferred candidate at all.
3) Keane withdrew his candidacy.

That's all we know. Now from just those 3 meager facts you can build up that entire complex story about what happened and what people's motivations were?!

Its a common sense deduction.

Certainly more plausible than notions of him being somehow surprised by a low transfer budget, every * in the world knows our financial strategy ffs, but somehow keane... a celtic fan, was somehow turned off when he found out he wouldnt get tens of millions to * away? Nope.

If you actually read and thought about my post(s) instead of reacting, you'd see that I don't think we are bigger than we are. However, Spartak were terrible in both games against us, and were by far the worst side we have played, bar Rennes, in the last three seasons Lennon managed us in Europe. We won't play a third seed as bad as them again,which was my point.
