Andy Walker made it seem like this wouldn't excite Celtic fans. Yet if he went and had a look, he'd see that a lot of us are more excited than we have been throughout this process

 

I don't think he was 3rd or 4th.
For me larsson was all media and every time something happens his name gets put in the hat.
Keane despite coming up for a chat i doubt celtic were going to offer him the job unless they really ran out of options.
Like someone else said he may have even been a wee smoke screen while we worked away in the back ground on others.
If him and DD are big mates and MOT making statements as well it could well have been a bluff to keep the papers busy.

 

It's crazy that he's actually paid to give his ridiculous opinions.

 

Don't believe he is 3rd/4th choice. I think the board have been very shrewd and professional. They clearly drew up a list of candidates and spoke to them all. We have no reason Keane was ever actually offered the job, just he spoke to the board and pulled himself out of the running. Same can be said for Larsson.
The board are keeping it very secretive and private, which is exactly what they should do. No-one really knows who's getting the job, hence why there's a new favourite every other day, it's annoying how long it taken, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

 

Much though I do like Spellcheck, there's something very satisfying about getting these sly wee digs in while he can't defend himself.

The only thing we know for sure is that Keane was in the running (because MON leaked it) and that there were 8 or 9 candidates with none a preferred candidate at that poing (because Lawwell told us). Literally everything else has been speculation from the media.

 

As much as Deila seems to believe in always playing attacking, attractive football, it should be noted at the same time that he has never managed in the CL.

Stromsgodset are in the qualifiers this year because they won the title, but if we go into the CL group stages (assuming we get by the qualifiers) and just attack teams, they will hammer us.

Long story short, if we appoint Deila, he is going to have to re-think his attacking strategy; unless we break the bank and sign two or three CL level attacking players in the summer, which won't happen.

I think your man Deila is a third or fourth choice. I'm not saying whether that's good or bad, and I hope he does well if he gets the gig, but I think by joining up the dots it's quite clear that other candidates have knocked back the job already.
