Seriously though - who is he... and why are we getting excited about him?

Is he the managerial equivalent of Alfred Finafinabogabogasson... no ones really knows * all about him, but he's clearly universe class!

This guy reminds me a little bit of Tommy Burns in the sense that he actively travels to clubs and studies the coaching methods, he has been to Borussia Dortmund and also Liverpool and has studied the way they take training etc. TB used to do that when he became Celtic manager, travelling to Barcelona etc.

Because he's not Coyle, McKay, Keane or anyone like that I think people are happy.

Anyone know what style of football he played at Stormfront Godsend?

His agent was just buying a new replica top. Also his agent, is also Johansen's agent so he will visit CP from time to time.

Really? I never knew that - thats really interesting.

Never had TB pinned down as that sort of guy, although his football was beautiful to watch.

Must cost a fair whack doing that though.

I must admit, i'm not one to usually get excited by managerial appointments but having been hearing and reading about this guy a fair bit, i am optimistic..

He does seem to have all the right attributes for us and the way we"re going at the minute..

He clearly has something about him, it"s gathering pace now so hopefully we get it over the line..

Could be a very shrewd move.from the board here..

    Edit: reading today i mean

Looks like this could come to fruition. I'd be very happy with him. Outside the box appointment.

I'm excited at the idea of Deila becoming our next manager to be honest, looks to have done very well in his short managerial career so far.

A lot of that excitement probably comes from the fact that we've not had a foreign manager for 15 years though too and he would bring a different approach to our last four managers.

Deila, Mackay and Clarke seem to be the favourites now, especially amongst fans. Moyes seems like a bit of a pipe dream at this stage.

I'd be happy with this appointment, don't know much about Deila but he seems like a good young manager, I think he'd do very well here.

I've been giving this thread due to the emotional stress it was causing, but since I seen Deilas name earlier, checked in to see what was happening and by * this wee dude has me *-in-my pants excited. Was reading through the godest fans posts on another site and they love him, the things hes done there- seems like he could replicate here. Really want this guy.

£1.4 million?? That all?? - they had just won the title 2 years on a trot and played in EL group stages for the first time. Southampton paid £3.5 million for him.

Norwegian Cup isn't seen as important in Norway, the bigger clubs usually disregard it in favour of the league.

Norway is behind Scotland, St Johnstone knocked out their biggest team ffs.

Signing Stefan Johansen doesn't mean you have an eye for talent and winning 1 Norwegian title doesn't mean you have worked wonders.
