Interesting, going by that he is earning £2k a week.

Really, that's interesting you should say that. I always though the Swedish league would have been wealthier than the Norwegian league? Surprising.

Im starting to believe this could happen again. The remuneration they would be after won't be that much in all honesty.

    Exciting stuff :icon_mrgreen:................

    This will not happen.

Manager hunting is like shopping, you go round the supermarket looking at products to buy. A new, up and coming foreign chocolate takes yer fancy. You access it, you analyse it but at the end of the day you plump for the Dairy Milk. Not wanting to risk it, you go for what's tried and tested.

And like new managers, this new chocolate could have nuts...That have not got a warning label and say you have a nut allergy, then boom. It blows up in yer face.

Coyle is the safe bet here. The dairy milk, the mars bar.......so to speak.

I'm sure lennon was on around £400-500k p/a or thereabouts - saw an article on it at the time. So 8-10k roughly. There were articles saying he trebled his wages when he signed a new deal but he denied it. (I might be wrong though)

He was on considerably less than Sally even after the fat one took the deferred 'paycut'.

I wonder if Johansen has something to say here. I read a quote from a Norwegian blogger, translating it as "Ronny Deila's perhaps greatest success as a coach was the development of Johansen"

im happy to see that the club are looking at different options but some people on here are going over the top wetting themselves about the possibility. These same people will be screaming for the board to spend big money for players even though this guys strengths seem to be working well within a tight budget and bringing in youth. Will you be prepared to give him 3 or 4 seasons to get it right? I doubt it. The first couple of bad results and we will be calling for his head. If we do appoint this guy then we have to finally realise that we are going down this road because financially its probably the best thing we can do. And we can forget about any big money signings. Maybe its the best way to go, i dont know, but if we do we have to give him time. He has to be better than Coyle though.

I can't remember the last time we had such an eventful/exciting race for the manager's position. It's certainly been entertaining (though quite nerve-racking) to see how things have been panning out.

Larsson, Coyle, Keane, Clarke and now Deila have all been odds on at some point. Extraordinary saga.

Don't see anything to suggest he is a good manager, won less than OGS did in Norway and we know how * he is.

OGS was the manager of the 'Man City of Norway' according to Norwegian fans. He won Stromsgodset their first title since 1970 last season. When he took over in 08 they were fighting relegation.

As we know, the odds don't reflect the guy's chances of getting the job. All they do is reflect the amount of money, or lack of it, being taken by the bookie vs potential payouts. However it does fill forum space.

Hope if Ronny comes he brings his mental assistant David Nielsen with him

In February 2005, Nielsen was sacked by AaB when he physically attacked team-mate Allan Gaarde during a training session, leaving him with a concussion.[9] Nielsen later explained in his autobiography that Gaarde was "pretentious... talking loudly about wine in Italian. "I told him: 'The next time you speak Italian I will break you in half. You're not f***ing Italian – you spent eight months there.' So when he did it again I decided to break his * legs like sticks. I jumped at him and bang. Jackpot. Felt good."[9] :smiley-laughing002:
