I would probably like Larsson as an assistant manager.

Doubt he'd take a step down to assistant, tbh. However, if there's one club in the world he'd do it for, it'd be us, I'd think.

I don't understand any real negativity towards Clarke. The only thing I'd say is he's perhaps a bit dull in character. But apart from that, an excellent coach, and I would say thus far a successful enough manager. His time at West Brom for me, overall was good. I'm not sure what people expect at times.

Steve Clarke is as dull as dishwater his press conferences will hardly be entertaining

Lenny brought stability and a better standard of player to the squad after the Mowbray era. I reckon Steve Clarke would be a good appointment for continuing that stability and is a pretty reputable manager. At least it wont be some * like Alan Pardew :50:

Yeah, because that actually matters. Do we sell season-books for press conferences now? :97:

Good Shout Binnie ... I dont know what some perople want either. If he brings success and attractive football i dont care if hes * Harpo Marx . It snot what he feeds to the press that counts its how his team entertain us on the big green grass bit !!
    Im good with Clark

Exactly, don't get me wrong, ideally we'd appoint a guy who can get us results on the pitch and give us some entertainment of it as well, a real character. However, not many of them exist.

Mourinho speaks very, very highly of Clarke. Coming from him, that's a huge compliment as we all know he doesn't hold back. I'm not sure where Clarke's name has even came from, but if he is a genuine option I'd be happy to have him on board.

Our budget isn't looking like it will be big, so we may need to look to loans for some added quality. For that you need contacts and Clarke has them in abundance. I also think he'd work wonders with some of our current players on the training field.

In terms of viable options, he is one of my favoured ones.

Apparently he's in the running for the assistant managers position at Aston Villa, and is looking at that.

Lets hope it doesn't turn out that he's knocked back the managers job at Celtic to be an assistant at Villa.

    Aw, that makes sense.

No doubt the press/fans will make that out as Aston Villa assistant managers job more appealing than Celtic managers job. :smiley-laughing002:

    Thank goodness though.

wish they didn't call the Keane situation a snub - he really wasn't wanted by the support so its more like the support snubbed him. Wonder how long it will be before Lambert has to let him go. or is it maybe the writing on the wall for Lambert?

He would still be the ROI assistant manager that's why the Villa job is attractive to him. He wants to do two jobs rather than be an outright manager, then he can crack on. If he wasn't willing to commit 100% to Celtic, then it's no great loss.

Steve Clarke would be a good choice regardless of his press conferences :smiley-laughing002

That would surely be a terrible move for Keane, being assistant manager for his country to assistant manager for a club team.

Ah, I thought it was full-time role as assistant at Villa. Makes sense why he'd consider that. A lot more managerial experience without quitting his current role or having any sort of the attention he'd get at Celtic.

I was fairly neutral with Clarke until I heard that egotist non football person Mourinho spoke highly of Clarke . Mourinho isn't any judge of either a footballer , manager or anyone else . All he has done is spend endless millions, bully opposition and referees and in general bring the game into disrepute .
It is getting more than just a little bit tiresome posters coming on everyday speculating completely in the dark about the merits of people who probably are not at all in the running for the Celtic job . We really are making fools of ourselves . The Scottish media and others are laughing how gullible we are .
