Oh, no I agree mate. I just listed a few rather than going through loads of nations.

There are plenty of managers out there from across Europe - across the globe even, yet we always restrict ourselves to the over-inflated egotistic British.

Don't know who is gonna be our next manager but just seen the good news it's not gonna be Keane. Thank * for that! Fingers crossed crossed it's Laudrup, Moyes or Malky.

Oh dear Roy Keane has said no:54: IMO this is not good and it could POSSIBLY mean the transfere budget is terrible and also players at the club leaving. As i say, it looks bad if Celtic can't attrack a guy lik Roy Keane who would prefer to stay as the number 2 at the Republic.

Is the list not like any other job employs people ? Ie a manager knows the position is available so they contact the club let them know that they are interested & the make a list out of the best candidates ?

Some managers don't like going to clubs first and only go to clubs if they are approached first.

He ruled himself out of the running - he wasn't offered anything for him to be able to say 'no'.

I'm really not surprised to hear that Roy Keane ruled himself out of contention for the job. As I said yesterday, I just couldn't see him being happy to work in an environment where he didn't have total control over player signings. If I was him I wouldn't be happy to work under those conditions either.

Now it's back to worrying we're going to end up with Owen Coyle. :54:

People keep talking about managers not wanting to work under these conditions: low spending, low wages and player sales.

But - what sort of contract is VVD on? Is it 4 years, because we don't really have to sell him this season, do we?

At last, someone talking sense and as for favourites, unless they have changed, bookies will declare odds based on the amount of money they could lose depending on who wins. No one on here really knows who is on the list, whether they have had an interview and whether it has gone well or not........but hey, it fills a forum.

If the choice of the manager is anything like some of our recent purchases, we won't know until just before the announcement .....could even be a 'project'.

No doubt theres offers on the table that have been accepted for our best players and before they are sold they need the right patsy in place to take the flak.
