Delighted keane won't take it ? Are yous mad that's bad news! This clearly means keane has sat down and made his feelings towards taking it and laid a few rules and lawell and co have just laughed and said no

This means players will be sold and we will get * all to spend that my opinion anyway keane wouldn't knock it back unless something like this was said this is bad times

Every manager will be told the same thing then, I imagine Lennie was told the same and that is why he resigned board cheaping out as usual they no they can cash in on FF and VVD for at least 25 million

I think you could be right here, owen coyle and jackie mac must be right up at the top of candidates now as not many will come in with a small budget and key players being immediately sold..

Tell you what wait till it is Owen coyle and we will all be saying I wish keane took it !

Tell you another thing why would everyone beleive individual sources that came from absolutely now where? Then the rest latch on to it then somebody advises us to take this other guy and the other guy shoots to first place in the bookie slot and keane works his way back! It's like some ducking guessing game I wouldn't be suprised if keane will still be unveiled

I'll wait till I hear an actual quote

Keane turned it down due being told to sell to raise funds for players......ermmm thought he was coming in because DD was going to give him money to spend and he was then going to * PL and the board because he was no yes man.
Love these threads full of inside info when no one knows * all.:smiley-laughing002:

Yeah options are a bit thin.

For a start, most top managers won't want to work in Scotland. It'd be difficult to even tempt a manager in the Championship up here (and this ignores the likelihood of a high compensation fee), and if an EPL side comes in for anyone out of work then we're * out of luck.

Having said that, the dispensible nature of modern managers maybe paints them out to be worse than they are. Of the guys on the list, if I was picking a manager, I'd maybe look to draw the line at ones with a history of major/controversial flaws in management style or a record of consecutive dodgy club stints in the past 2 or 3 years.

For me this places Di Canio and Coyle out of the running - Di Canio sparked a player rebellion after dodgy training regimes (and had his man management issues at Swindon although arguably did a decent job), and Coyle had a terrible record at his last 2 clubs (although I truth I wouldn't be entirely against him getting the job as I think he was sacked prematurely at Wigan).

Despite Neil Lennon's success, at this moment in time I'd also probably avoid guys with inadequate experience (at least until more experienced options are exhausted) given that we've a Champions League qualification campaign coming up. For me this excludes Henrik Larsson and Jackie McNamara from the running.

I'd be cautious about appointing Garcia as well - he's resigned from his last two jobs after only a year in charge of each. Seems to have itchy feet and might not be the wisest appointment if we're looking for a long-term manager.

By contrast, I'd be happy enough with Moyes who failed at United, Laudrup who was sacked at Swansea etc. etc.

Yep. I imagine he will be earning more with ROI and ITV gig than he would if he were just with us.

It will be Owen Coyle and the main reason is he will be grateful to take any job that comes to him funds or not looks like all of us who wanted the likes of Laudrup and Moyes were miles off they require funds to work and funds aren't coming from DD

The problem with that is that we are limiting ourselves to Britain, whereby people in England seem to have an over-inflated view of how big they are.

We need to look abroad - there are plenty of managers who would jump at the chance.

I don't see money being a big factor for him, must be in the tens of millions stashed away at this stage of his career.

Clyde sport are saying Keane has knocked the job back, i wasn't one for him getting the job but if he would have i would have supported the appointment,on the basis of him turning the job down i wonder what his terms where for that to happen they must have been * for him to do so which worries me even more.

    all of them
Has worked under some of the biggest names in the game, Jose, Gullit, Daglish, Zola led west brom to their best ever points tally in the EPL as well as their best position (8th) in his first season, sacked (which was a ridiculous one, even by EPL standatds) when the next season didnt replicate the first.

The guy is pretty much a chelsea legend and really well respected by all south of the boarder.

I'd take him on board aye.
