They had also, the season before, racked up the least amount of EPL points ever at that stage and still the second lowest today. Sunderland were an absolute mess when he took over. .

Even Keane admitted it he never played 100% for us,as did a lot of other marquee signings, the way people are abusing him you would think he played for the huns.
I never wanted him for the job, hope he gets it and brings Hunger and attacking football with him.
The world press will love it,as will big sponsors.

I don't think Keane is a bad manager but it won't work for us. It just won't. There are many better options out there imo, most of the names in the poll for a start...

I think people are greatly over exaggerating how Keane is a world class name who will get worldwide media attention.

Seedorf and Filipo Inzaghi are the two most recent AC Milian managers. They are world class names who got * all media coverage here so why the * would keane attract European attention?

yes there world class, but remember keane played for one of the biggest clubs in the world and that country happens to be England where a nation overhypes everything from media to manager sackings times a million.. Plus a man utd ledgend who people know managing the biggest club in scotland..

    Thats how.

    I agree.

It'll make the headlines for ten minutes down south, if that.

Not that I'm saying he won't bring a bit of marquee value of course, but naming him as manager isn't going to create headlines all over Europe. I doubt him taking the manager job at Sunderland or Ipswich made the European press stand up and take note.

But Celtic are a European name, Ipswich and Sunderland certainly are not, with no disrespect of course, the two clubs cannot be compared to ourselves.

That being said it won't send ripples throughout Europe, having Seedorf as our manager just after being let go by AC would.

Exaggerating on the internet? I think you might be on to something here!

They are also exaggerating that Keane will be a complete disaster too, you know.

Internet forums are either wildly negative or positive about any given situation. Anybody that somehow thinks these opinions are close to the general of the thoughts of the public are absolute nutcases.

There are a clutch of posters who can offer genuine insight and reasoned debate on any given subject and that separates them from the rest of the hysterical extremists.

Your statement about Seedorf etc implies that Keane will get "* all" attention which, again, is just another tiring extreme negative reaction to "counter" the extreme positive one you painted in order to "dismiss" it.

It's all very uninspiring I'm afraid.

RK wouldn't be my first choice of appointment but, if he's appointed, he will get my full backing as manager of Glasgow Celtic until he does something which justifies a change of heart. :shamrock:

Aye, we're a European name on the same level as maybe Ajax. I doubt anything they do makes major news outside Holland.

I'm not belittling the appointment (if it happens), I'm just saying it won't be major news outwith the UK really.

I am surprised with how big it was in the UK, I thought it would be ignored as England went WC daft.

So is the deal we've offered it to Keane and we're waiting for his answer?

No I would say he has already accepted but they had to respect the fai and not make announcement until after friendly. Keane can now go to glasgow and be unveiled most probably on Mondays after everything is signed
