Mowbray done far more to merit the job than Keane has.

Also, I am certain we can do better than Keane, Oscar Garcia would be better and the guy has put his hat in the ring - Petrescu would take it. There are loads of good young managers out there but we restrict ourselves to Britain as usual.

I'd like to see how many jersey's we can sell if we don't make Europe. I doubt a few extra Keane jersey's will make up for that loss.

To be honest i reckon Robbie could be back here as well, he has given Roy his full backing to be next Celtic manager, so there could be an influx from Ireland, O'Shea and St Ledger have been the same with their comments, in O'Shea and Robbie's case, this could be their chance of a big pay day, i just hope this is not the road we end up going down

If he spends bigger money on duds then he can certainly do alot of damage. If Keane is to be our manager he needs to prove his worth on a Lennon budget before he should be trusted with more funds. For a change I will be hoping we do not increase the transfer budget.

Our financial security lies in Europe. Therefore a manager that can take us forward in the CL/Europa Lg is a must. If we can couple that to a board that doesnt wanna sell our prize assets but keeps the team together whilst strengthing slightly every year then we can only be more successful and success means money.

I dont think Roy Keane is the man for that at the moment.

Hope we have a manager by the end of next week by the latest. Whoever it is we need a bit of flair brought in too.

If we get keane im going to bet the spending will stay just the same...around the 10 mill per season.

I don't think there will be a massive spending policy. we will keep to the policy of bringing in young talent, but with the hope that we will not sell them on at a profit to the 1st club that waves wads of cash in lawwells face.
I know that most of the contracts being signed have a proviso that if a decent bid comes in from a epl club and both parties are happy, then the player can leave. hopefully keanes personality can convince players to commit longer to celtic and curb lawwells bid to sell the family silver.

we've got a 1st class scouting setup at celtic park,so there is no need to spend massive amounts of money on new players, but there is a need to keep them.

First of i was quite happy with Keane, i dont know anything about the guy except hes a legendary footballer. After reading loads of opinions here, and seeing other people talk about how awful he is im actually quite worried about him managing Celtic.

Thats Kevin Doyle on the Keane merry-go-round next as well, Right man, huge club blah blah, whoring himself for a move to Celtic, if Keane takes over his first move should be to entice that well known Glaswegian/Irishman Aiden McGeady back in a swap for Forrest if Everton are really interested, that one move would prove he could be capable of Managing us

Wish Kevin Doyle would retire. Get the fear every transfer window :54: Although if we signed him we could go into the CL qualifiers with Wolves bench from last season, Griffiths and Doyle.

Coyle and Garcia and probably others , have stated they are interested in the Celtic job, but how do we know Celtic have any interest in them.
We have no idea and why should we ?

I am one of the ones that gave him a negative response i agree inlooks like we are bashin him before he turns up but end the day mate inoersonally dont think hes a good manager and not good enough for us if he proves me wrong i will hold my hands up and praise whatever crazy footballing goddess who sent him

Having said that inread a report on him being as equaly negative but also pointed out his manin positive which i didnt realise due to ignorance i may add. He won manager of the year in the championship!! I was shocked got promotion with the clubs record points talky aswel so there is hope of a good manager there somewhere and also the other great point made was he has that european winning mentality (as a player mind) but as a captain aswel back when captains were that little more commanding and leading

As a player he was by far and away my favourite midfielder he was irish and a * nutjob i still regard him as onenof if the the best midfield commander in the english top flight but he still has to prove himself to us fans IF he becomes our manager

Best of luck roy please prove me and others wrong

4 games.....they were bottom of the Championship after 4 games. It's a 46 game season. He then brought in 11 players and he managed to get a yo-yo club promoted, one that is probably too big for the Championship anyway.

Keane's managerial record is awful, if he had no connection to us in any way, he wouldn't be considered in a million years so what does that tell you.

Have to agree with that....Celtic connection aside there is no way we would be remotely interested in him.

I like him as a pundit for his frankness but as our manager I'm not sure about him but would get behind him from the start and hope he proves the doubters wrong.

I would take him over Coyle but miles behind the likes of Malky, Lambert or even Moyes for that matter

I just hope all this hype around keane is just a smoke screen and we have a decent European manager lined up. Someone who can take us to this next level and I dont believe keane is the man to do that

In terms of what each man has identified, there is literally a chasm of managerial ability between someone like Keane and Moyes.

I'll support Keane if he does come but there's far too much about this deal that involves us holding on to the hope that Keane shows us something he hasn't in his managerial career, than the expectation that he continues to show what he already has.
