I think there's a lot more to suggest that he is a rubbish manager than that he isn't. In fact I think a lot if people are clutching at straws by highlighting one successful season at Sunderland 7 years ago.

His track record suggests he's very volatile, has an abysmal eye for talent and contrary to many people view that he will have players 'running through brick walls for him,' often struggles to have a united team pulling in the same direction.

It's dissapointing that we appear to be in for Keane solely based on the fact that DD likes him. I would like to think that our managerial selection process had moved on in recent years, to the stage where it made no difference to the board if the candidate was an ex-Celt, or even an ex footballer, but that doesn't appear to have happened.

If Keane is meant to be soooo good then why did he not get the Man U job. We need someone with a bit more experience and plays with some good attacking and passing moves. and also Jackie is not ready for the Celtic job. :87:

I hope Keane does not get the job . The guys has nomanagerial expierience apart from helping MON out with the Irish team .
Keane will be a major step backwards , I just think back to his brief career with us and he hardly set the heather on fire .

Don't see how keane would be such a terrible appointment as is getting made out. Lennon came in and inherited a team that was needing a lot of work done to it. He got the team competitive within a short time frame. Lennon had no experience as a manager, and his coaching staff were not exactly high profile names in the managerial world. Comparing this scenario with keane, he'll be walking into a winning team with UCL experience and not needing massively changed. He also has experience in English football with two teams.

Just feel that there is no winning with selecting a manager for us. If we take the gamble and get a foreign manager in, some will not be happy. If we go with the Scottish-Celtic linked manager some will criticise the board for taking the easy/cheap option. We have been extremely solid in picking managers except the obvious few , and I think that will continue whoever gets the job (except coyle)

There are a lot of unknowns with any managerial appointment but I think Keane's track record is one of failure.

It's not professional way of dealing with things.

You sit down and talk out your differences think the way it happened was him just blowing a fuse and going off in one.

And possibly most important thing that's overlookedis the fact he walked out because the facilities were not off a good enough standard.

How does he expect to cope with a low budget and work within his means at celtic. You make do with what you have and get in with it

But he has not had the same achievements and that's the point. So you are saying cause they where near the bottom that can be classed as an achievement but budgets don't sorry but I can't agree with that buddy, I would say budgets play a big role too having a smaller budget and doing well is a bigger achievement IMO like what Lennon done on our budget for example in Europe and get to the last 16.

Like I said before winning the league cup is a better achievement you can't even argue with that, look what Keane done in the Prem, Laudrup done better that's a fact.

Roy Keane was a great player but is an absolute * of a man and a * manager. Why do we always limit ourselves to ex-Celts and/or Irish guys. It has led to daft appointments like Brady, Mogga etc in the past. Having said that I do want Moyes for the job but that is because he is a very experience manager who was good at Everton and nothing to do with his not too glorious stint with us in the past.

Ireland are only my 2nd international team after Scotland but I still think he was a disgrace walking out on Ireland. He is also tempramentally unsuited to by a manager of any team IMO. Lenny was about as hot a head as I ever want to see doing the Celtic manager job. Its a job that needs a bit of class IMO, the sort of class guys like MON, Billy McNeill and Tommy Burns had when they were gaffer. Stachan got away with being a bit mad because he was clever and funny but we dont want a surly hot head in charge. I have always had the impression that Keane is not entirely mentally the full shilling. I am glad to see only 4% are star struck enough to vote for the loon.

i know. Read my post again more carefully. I said ex-Celt and/or Irish. Just saying dont limit our options. Obviously if a top class ex-Celt or Irish manager is available then great but lets not limit our options. Limiting our options is how people like Mark Magee somehow ended up on previous shortlists. If he want an ex-Celt he wouldnt remotely have been considered as he is a crap manager.
