No doubt Ferguson was one of the greats but it is common knowledge there is no love lost between the pair of them. Plus He though Moyes was the man to take over Man Utd, so maybe he doesn't have an eye for talent when it comes to managerial ability.

I hope we get him just to * off the Swansea fans. They have an over inflated sense of what they are and how big they are. :56:

Went on a forum to see any threads about Laudrup (how they felt about him and his style) and loads of them are saying how we're nothing now, he will be taking a massive step down, how they are so much better than us and......our ''DRAW'' was commendable with Barca but ultimately we always get pumped every years. :52:

    Mon the Swans!

Aw hope he comes just to rile them up. :smiley-laughing002:

Please don't quote a Hun who is talking about an Irish man . Fergie wrote the most bitter book written by any sportsman for decades .
I am pretty sure that Keane won't get the job . At the same time thanks to MO'N's big mouth Keane is about the only name we know that is in for our job .
I think Peter Lawwell was lying when he said there was 5-10 in for the vacancy . Surely he knew how many there was and if he wanted to tell the truth he would have said so.

Moyes was a failure for a season granted but is till am of the idea ferguson wanted someone to come in and fail with the team he had so as to make himself look better.

Keane as a manager has been shocking its there for all to see his tactics were atrocious his teams dull and boring and tbh just looked lost when it was going wrong. Keane for me is a no. too much of an ego but having said that if appointed like any player we buy i would still support and hope he improves the team. I think we need a more attack minded free flowing football coach not someone who is gonna grind results

Each to their own opinion but from ab interview for ssn i seen of lawel it looks like hes a serious contrnder ( although pistol pete can be deviously coy when talking to the press)

It's * crazy how deluded that bunch are. Apparently we'd get relegated if we were in the EPL and if we were in the Championship we'd struggle to stay in the top half! :smiley-laughing002:

Edit: Like these guys actually think we'd "be nobodies if they played in English league".

He really did blow a wad of cash at Sunderland for absolutely horrendous results.

He's a hard * alright, those Cork men usually are and he is definitely a Celtic man. I still can't help but wonder why DD is considering him now.

He hasn't achieved anything managerially and doesn't seem to be well versed at working to tight budgets and/or developing youth.

Mind you....what the * do I know, maybe he's on the verge of becoming a great manager. After all he has worked under Ferguson through the glory years.

If does get the gig, I'll support him as most fans will I believe. Besidesit will be great watching him take on the Hun media.

I think one certain candidate is Coyle he wouldn't of asked for a clause in his wigan contract to manage Celtic if he wasn't going to apply and also Garcia has spoke out about it and Keane is there any other ones that were certain of ? or are we looking at those 3 ?

Did you look at the 606 one (I think thats it) aswell?

I genuinely just took a peak to see what their views were regarding Laudrup - its always good to see what the former team think. But * me, do they forget they are Welsh? Like, if they weren't allowed in the English league, what sort of club/league do they think they would have?

But aye, apparently we are a nothing team now, we aren't a big club and as you say - we'd be relegated (totally forgetting that if we were in the same league, we would have more money!).

They beat us 2-0 the last time they played us btw, therefore they are better. Going by their logic, us beating Liverpool 2-1 in a friendly means we are better than them. :56:

Muppet 1: The last time we played them in a friendly we won 2-0

Muppet 2: I rest my case

I worry that he has spent the majority of the time since criticising Man Utd under Fergie during this period and beyond. He has also spent considerable time belittling his former teammates. But most worryingly for me is that he has totally decried Fergie's management style, ensuring his time spent under arguably the greatest manager ever is perhaps a hindrance rather than a help.

He's entitled probably more than most to speak his mind about Fergie and Utd. Personally I don't give a crap about Utd and Ferguson, I can easily see Keane and Fergie clashing in terms of personalities anyway.

Even though he's been critical/dismissive etc about that era, he will have no doubt picked up a lot of knowledge anyway. Being part of that team/era can only be good thing for any player/manager.

Anyway.....blah * blah. This is all academic, only DD and tricksy Pete know what the * is going to happen next. They need to be careful here as Keane could be a divisive figure as much as he could become a strong leader/figure.
