Sorry but that's not quite true, when Coyle got Burnley to the prem on a shoe string budget. And Malky has been a good manager at Watford and Cardiff also Laudrup was great in his first season and winning the league cup.

Only thing Keane has done is get Sunderland into the prem with a bigger budget than the other sides in the championship and the. * it up by signing * and then going to Ipswich to work with a small budget and * that up there as well.

Like I said in my other post he got them up yes, but with a better budget than 90% of the league and then look what he done in the prem sign * and then walked away.

Now onto Ipswich they never won a game in 14 matches then finished 15th that season and he signed players from Sunderland. And I'm pretty sure they where in the relegation zone when he got sacked or walked away again.

Keane has not won the league cup in England nor got a team to the prem with a small budget others have, so for me they don't have similar achievements apart from him and Malky but not with the other two and 100% nothing like Laudrup.

Keane took over Sunderland when they were near the bottom of Championship and got them promoted, regardless of budget that was an achievement.

McKay took over a team that had just missed out on promotion with a big budget and got them promoted.

For me Keane's achievement is bigger.

As for Laurdrup yes he did when League Cup. However had a very poor 2nd Season with Swansea and was sacked after being accused of being lazy and shirking his Managerial responsibilities.

Keane if he gets the gig will be far better than Lennon was. Lennon came in with NO Experience and was the CHEAP op.

if roy keane gets the job I hope one of his 1st conditions is to put the brakes on lawwell selling our prized assets every time some low ranking EPL teams comes chapping at Celtics door.
maybe it's time to stop this policy of buying low and selling high, and keep a team together.

Roy Keane isn't and never was a meaningful prospect to manage Celtic . R K's rumour was all about putting names on season book tickets . Now when the renewal time is up we will move on to other candidates .

I loved Keano as a player and the way he owned the Huns at Ibrox along with Lenny was fantastic.

Not sure he's the man for the job though. He seems like a right * off the park and not sure for how long the players will be able to put up with him once things are not that well results-wise.

I'd prefer somebody else, Malky would be a fantastic appointment IMO. As would Laudrup or Garcia.

It's a no from this fella.

That just makes so little sense.

MON: Desmond, mate, I'm stuck working with that mentalist Keane and he's a * nightmare. I can't take much more.
DD: Well, Martin, as it happens I own a football club, maybe I can help you out.
MON: I'd really appreciate that, Desmond, but if he's as bad as I'm saying, won't he screw everything up at your club and cost you a * ton of cash?
DD: No worries, Martin. You know me, when have I ever put money before friendship?

Show me a manager who thinks he can get better than Izzy and Lustig on our budget and I'll show you an idiot. We have two of the best fullbacks in Britain. Both could easily play in the EPL.

Edit: now watch Keane come in, sell Izzy for £500k and buy some 40 year old from Bolton for £6million.

Although I'd obviously prefer the likes of Garcia, Laudrup or McKay; I wouldn't mind Keane too much. The league is won no matter what and we could attract some decent players with a guy as high-profile as him at the helm

This is only true to a point.. he loved him up until his last few seasons at Utd. At the end their was clear fractures in their relationship and things ultimately reached a point where Ferguson thought his influence was no longer good for the team. link:

    Michael Laudrup as Celtic Manager..

This is a repost as my first was closed and no apparent reason was given.

I just wanted to guage general oppinion specifically on how the fans think Michael Laudrup would be welcomed and how he would perform if he was to be offered the position as manager?

Personally, i think he would be the best option availible. He was desperately unlucky to be sacked at Swansea given what he achieved there and he is highly regarded across europe.

He was tipped to take over at Granada this month, however that position has just been filled. Could he be the one?

I think it would make for a great story if he were to make his name as a legend at Celtic, similar to the status his brother achieved at Rangers.

Stop being so melodramatic ffs. Why do people come out with such negative histrionics for something they clearly know * all about how it will pan out?
