*, looks like Keane's likely to get the post now. Him and Coyle for me were the out-and-out worst choices from the main candidates listed. But, hey, DD likes him, so guess we just have to put up with it.

I can definitely see what people mean by Keane keeping us in the headlines. He's an outspoken figure who's basically an attention magnet. That probably will be the main reason behind the appointment if it does indeed happen.

I can't see him lasting any more than 2 seasons if he doesn't do it in the CL though. He seems like a rather short-term option anyway as I don't think he's cut out to be a top manager.

 

Maybe this could be a really good thing at least he wouldn't take * from anybody and if he is Desmond's pal that could work hugely in his favour in terms of extra money for players etc

It's hard to imagine DD thinking PL is getting a bit out of hand.

 

Does Keane and Stokes get along i know Keane never had much time for him in the past due to the way he acting at Sunderland. One thing for sure if any players step out of line Keane will not think twice about kicking them in the baws.

 

Some are bad, some are good. But at Celtic, he'd have a great scouting network. Hopefully he'd be partially advised by them, while not pestered by Lawwell.

Even though it is Roy Keane, I can't see him holding any grudges against Stokes. After all, Stokes was only 18/19 when he was playing under Keane at Sunderland.

One of my brother in laws is now 34, but still holds a grudge cos I broke, accidentally, one of his granny's, special glasses when HE was 17....and NO, they wurnae valuable, they were bought in the 1960s version of pound stretchers ....so...hem......he might still dae haud a grudge....

 

I'm sure Stokes spoke well of Keane when he got called up to the Ireland squad.
