Honestly i'd hate for coyle to come here and moyes has had a woeful season but what excellent qualities does keane have over either of them?

I would happily have Keane ahead of Coyle if that's who it's between, after reading a few posts I'm convinced Roy would be good for Celtic and maybe vice versa

Been thinking about Keane. At the start, would admit he is not my favourite.
If, and at the moment it is IF, we appoint Keane, as much as I wouldn't be jumping for joy, I can see the logic.
We play in a wee League. By European standards, our League goes unnoticed. By UK standards, folks like SSN report stuff from the English Championship before our League. We need a 'name' at the helm. We need someone who can keep our Club in the news - SSN, BBC. 2 of our last 4 did that from the start - O'Neil and Strachan - and Lenny grew into the mould. Keane would do that from the off. The League is a given. All he has to do is somehow get us through the CL qualifiers into the Groups and he is a success.

So as much as he is not my No1 choice, by appointing him, Keane will keep us in the tabloids and on TV and hopefully get us into the CL Groups. If he does all of that he will be a successful appointment.

If keane gets to choose his own transfers then we're well and truly *. His previous record is abysmal.

Roy Keane would be a * backwards step in my opinion. He's a proven * and the likes of Laudrup being talked about, I really thought we would go for someone with a good style of play, something different. But no, again we go with the British/Irish mentality.

Passion, intelligence, a winning mentality, he won't accept anyone slacking off, has huge amount of experience in the champions league as a player that can be conveyed to the players.

His temper, stubborness and eye for a good signings seem to be the things that will let him down.

If he has learned from his mistakes then I don't see why we can't have another Neil Lennon on our hands but I seriously doubt it.

I'd rather have that than Lawwell consistently tightening the purse strings. Money should be generated by success in the CL, and not by Lawwell driving down the costs frantically and selling whatever he can. Next thing you know, he'll have a giant corset tightened around CP to enforce the ˝tightening the belt˝ part to the fullest.

I can actually see your reasoning regards the high media profile......but would DD (sounds like a bra now that I think about it...) and co (which all run together sounds like an outsized lingerie company name...) sacrifice management quality for the media profile? Or do they really think he's a great manager? I don't. I also think he could destroy morale and the dressing room quite easily, not so much through lack of social skills than the fact that he's just a bit of a *.

Just not my choice at all.

    Over to DD &Co.

Looking at the transfers of Keane, does anyone think the club might look at him as head coach and employ a director of football, John Park perhaps?

You make an interesting point. But another way of looking at this is that because Roy Keane is so high profile in England the media will report European and domestic success as 'Roy Keane's success' and not 'Celtic's success'. The focus will always be on him rather than the team. If we win in europe it will be seen as 'a masterstroke from the tenacious Keane'. And when we lose it will be 'Keane shows his inadequencies again'.

If we pass up a Laudrup or a Garcia for a Roy Keane, I'm cancelling the renewal of my season ticket. Why should I invest my financial support in a seemingly unambitious club?

    Bingo.

I think you've got it. We want a director of football. We also want to keep Park and a role like this would be an upgrade for him and more than likely keep him here.

I dunno, all kind of fits together now.....

I'd say all three would qualify for most of those, champions league being the obvious exception but that was keane as a player, not a coach or manager, which is entirely.different..
For me keane has the mentality of a winner but again from his playing days and that hasn't totally come over with him to management, in fact i'd say moyes definitely and even coyle have a better winning mentality and certainly track record, as managers..
