If we were ever going to take a gamble on a managerial appointment, now is the time - what with the league, in alll likelihood, being a gimme.

Won't take no messing from Griffiths though could be the kind of manager to make him do his talking on the pitch if not he will ship him out

I really hope you're right. Keane is more exiting but he could easily ruin things and alienate all the players.

I know coyle would be decent. He's less likely to screw up and as you said is a safe pair of hands. I think you're being unfair to him though. What he achieved with burnley and his first season at Bolton shouldn't be forgotten.

    yessss

coyle aint inspiring to me but he's unlikely to implode/explode and * everyone off

i think we've got some decent young players, i dont want them all * off, for keane's ego to want his men that are no doubt out of our price range anyway!!!

and even though he seems calmer on tv he will blow up with all the smsm * up here and you probably couldnt blame him i would just like a good coach to train and manager a group of players into playing good football

You'd like to think Griffiths has had his kick up the *, it's Watt that will need to work. Keane banned Stokes from all the nightclubs in Sunderland because he was out all the time.

I think we have a couple of years grace where we are going to have a pretty easy time in the SPL but it's now we should be building for the future and 10 in a row ,not sure that Keane is the man for that.

Don't honestly think Watt has a future here anyway, Keane will give everyone a chance to show him what they can do as every new manager does, he does seem to like a big guy up front he had Jones at Sunderland and Murphy at Ipswich so Balde might get more chances to shine

For anyone interested, this is Keane's Sunderland signings i.e when he had decent money to spend (more than we have):
    2006/07
    Liam Miller. Free. Manchester United
    Dwight Yorke. Free. Sydney FC
    Graham Kavanagh. £500,000. Wigan
    Stanislav Varga. £550,000. Celtic
    David Connolly. £1.4m. Wigan
    Ross Wallace. £550,000. Celtic
    Lewis Nyatanga. Loan. Derby
    Jonny Evans. Loan. Manchester United
    Marton Fulop. £500,000. Tottenham
    Carlos Edwards. £1.4m. Luton
    Anthony Stokes. £2m. Arsenal
    Danny Simpson. Loan. Manchester United
    Stern John. Undisclosed. Coventry

    2007/8
    Craig Gordon. £9m. Hearts
    Paul McShane. £2.5m. West Brom
    Dickson Etuhu. £1.5m. Norwich
    Kieran Richardson. £5.5m. Manchester United
    Michael Chopra. £5m. Cardiff
    Greg Halford. £2.5m. Reading
    Roy O'Donovan. Undisclosed. Cork City
    Russell Anderson. £1m. Aberdeen
    Danny Higginbotham. £2.5m. Stoke
    Kenwyne Jones. £6m. Southampton
    Ian Harte. Free. Levante
    Andrew Cole. Free. Portsmouth
    Phil Bardsley. £2m. Manchester United
    Rade Prica. £2m. FC Aalborg
    Andy Reed. £4m. Charlton
    Yves Mvoto-Mvoto. £300,000. Paris Saint-Germain

    2008/9
    Nick Colgan. Free. Ipswich
    George McCartney. £4.5m. West Ham
    Anton Ferdinand. £8m. West Ham
    Pascal Chimbonda. Undisclosed. Tottenham
    Teemu Tainio. £4m. Tottenham
    Steed Malbranque. £5m. Tottenham
    David Meyler. Undisclosed. Cork City
    Djibril Cisse. Loan. Marseilles
    David Healy. £1.2m. Fulham
    El-Hadji Diouf. £2.5m. Bolton

Some decent signings, like Craig Gordon. But, bar the guys that actually played for us, most wouldn't get into this Celtic team or any except Mowbrays. Bit worrying.

if keane upsets a few players by demanding high standards thats fine by me thats exactly the kind of attitude we need at a club like ours, on top of which he may have the pulling power for transfer targets that the rest dont have ,would you like to come and play for roy keane at celtic is definitly more alluring than come play for owen coyle

Think of it like taking a young player with great potential but a flaw and helping him reach his potential before selling him in. We do that all the time with players, why not managers?

True but neither should what Keane did at Sunderland.

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I have cheered myself up (not) by reading the list of numpties The Labradour's owner and TV pundit brought to Sunderland.........Come back Tony Mowbray, all is forgiven.

If its keane I'll be so angry.

Done nothing as a manager and is a * * who will no doubt want to be the centre of everything. Desmond can get to * too if this happens, how bout we try and sign an actual manager rather than this hot head who will no doubt alienate most of our players. In my mind he's the same kind of manager as Di Canio.

I honestly despise the man, I certainly will not support him if he gets off to a rough start here.
