This guy is anything but a successful manager, does he fill anyone with confidence? No, me neither..

Right near/ at the bottom of candidates i was hoping for, if this goes ahead, keane is the sort of guy i can see disrupting harmony and team spirit, so dissapointed..
Knew it would be him or coyle..

Charles paterson says we need to sell season tickets and get bums on seats with no huns, hearts or hibs (was dying to throw that in), if anyone thinks keane will get more bums on seats, there deluded..

Well, if Roy Keane does get the job then this is my reading of what's happened.

Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell really wanted to give the job to Owen Coyle but have been made aware of the general negative response amongst the Celtic support towards the idea of Coyle being Celtic manager. Desmond and Lawwell have then got cold feet about appointing Coyle, fearing a drop in season ticket sales, and have instead opted to go for a box office name in Roy Keane. Keane's managerial record doesn't stand up very well to close scrutiny, this would be a pure bums on seats appointment.

I honestly believe that fan power has played a part here if Coyle doesn't get offered the job.

Thank you. Thank you, and again Thank you. Knew I was having a bad dream. For minute there thought we were about to offer the Labradour's owner a job. Whew, that was close.

It's going to be Keane because nobody else wants the job and that's the harsh reality. Can't understand why we've not approached Malky Mackay though.

Keane has passion and intelligence. 2 key factors in being a successful manager. But his flaws greatly outweigh his strengths.

Anyone brave enough to stand up to him will be papped out the team within months. I can see Commons, Brown and Mulgrew all gone by Christmas. He will dismantle the team and make us weaker.

My only hope is that he has calmed down a bit and learned from his mistakes. I doubt it though

    Just on Sky
Sky Sports reporter Charles Paterson said on Thursday evening: "This is very big news.

"Celtic are saying nothing on the record. I can tell you from speaking to sources close to the club tonight that Roy Keane has not, as yet, been offered the job of Celtic manager.

"It is my understanding that Celtic are still considering a number of high profile candidates.

"But Roy Keane has certainly been regarded as favourite over the last 24 hours and now we have confirmation that there has been an approach from Dermot Desmond.

"It is really Dermot Desmond who is driving this. Roy Keane finished his career at Celtic and that move was heavily brought about by Dermot Desmond.

"A lot of the Celtic fans we have spoken to said they would like to see (former Cardiff boss) Malky Mackay given the job but I understand Malky Mackay's representatives have so far had no contact with Celtic."
