Know I should be excited by all of this but after nearly 60 years supporting this Club, I am sooo underwhelmed by these names - especially Keane & Coyle. Our League used to be filled with young guys learning the trade but now it's filled with the McIness', McCall's, managers from Irish Leagues and (soon to be) Keane/Coyle. It might be OK for other Clubs, but why do we have to go with the tried and failed ? Why can't we be bold and go for a young, relatively new guy with drive and ambition. I was even thinking the other night, why not put in an experienced Manager as a mentor - even someone like Davie Hay - and appoint Commons as player/coach with a view to the future ?
We are soo predictable and safe, even when the league title is a gimmee. No wonder our support/season tickets has gone down over the years.

I think he could probably get the best out of Daryl Murphy, hopefully he persuades Paul McShane, Liam Miller and Kenwyne Jones to all come up here too.

His status in world football, will put us in the spotlight and will bring a bit more attention to our league! The world media were only interested in us when Lenny was receiving death threats and us beating Barca! Therefor he will further raise our profile! Hopefully for the right reasons!

What was the press conference that was meant to happen at 5?
Was it a Celtic one or ROI one?

ROI. Keane was meant to hold it. Got dealyed until before 7 and O'Neill took it. Confirmed informal talks have taken place.

Ok Keane wouldn't be my first choice of Manager but to be honest I'd be reasonably pleased with his appointment. I think given a decent transfer budget and he could take us forward.

Surely not Keane. Been a failure everywhere. Great player but don't think he's got it in him to man manage.

Radio 5 say we have spoke to Keane but he's one of 5 being spoken to. No announcement imminent according to * Forsyth.
