Roy Keane is an absolutely * useless football manager. The players will hate him, the fans will hate him and the board will end up hating him as well.

Utterly pointless to even consider him, he is not good enough and never will be. The club will regress at a rate of knots under him. Going from someone so articulate and intelligent as Lennon to this paper hard man that rubs everyone he comes into contact with the wrong way is not the answer.

Keane wouldn be my choice, but he will be judged on results, hopefully he has learned from his mistakes from his previous jobs

There's no way keane was our first choice and there's no way he's the only one been contacted there's no way coyle and McNamara would knock the jobs back so they are either behind keane for the job infact the must be! This kind of shows me we have went for a moyes or malky and they have probably said no

Also if he gets the job im sure he wont be a yes man as said earlier, and he probz demanded a transfer kitty of some amount and DD is a "very close" friend so it makes sense.

Maybe there is some conditions that keane wanted before saying yes.

imagine if 1 was you cant sell my players when you want a profit i.e VVD FOSTER we could build a solid team that way.

The manager with the best chance of doing this and actually getting desmond to agree is keane. simply beacuse of his close friendship with him.

plenty of negatives and posotives if this comes true.

I dont think the appointment of Keane, if its true, is a good thing at the moment. He may have potential in management but i think having the opportunity to work with MON will be more valuable to him than taking the Celtic job. Its too early for Keane, a few more years working with the Irish set up under O'neill will benefit him no end.

But that's just nonsense. He won promotion to the Premier League with Sunderland and kept them up the following season.

Am I the only one who wants this to be true? I think a lot of the guys who donn't want him think we actually have a chance with guys like Laudrup. Come on, guys, if it's not Keane, it'll be someone like Coyle.

I'm starting to find myself warming to the idea of Coyle coming here is this rumour is true....and I really don't want Coyle. Keane who has done absolutely jack * in his managerial career to manage a club our size?

If this happens CP is going to be a ghost town for a few season's.

i dont think Keane is the worst of choices for the Job, there are a few others i would of preferred but i dont think this would be a bad appointment.

He a had a very successful playing career under Alex Ferguson, he knows the game inside out at all levels of competition. He is known worldwide. Yes, his managerial career did not start very well, There was alot of expectation from him becoming a manager and the pressure clearly got to him, causing him to make poor decisions, but he has been under Martin O'Neil's wing for some time now and you can almost guarantee he has learned a lot from him!

I dont think everyone should write him off already, if he can keep his pride and stubbornness out of the way of making the correct managerial decisions i think he will do a great job.

Regardless of who the manager is, we owe it to the Club to give him a chance and get behind them until he gives us reason not to!

Keane would attract more fans from the off than Coyle or MacKay.

If Keane has done jack * in his managerial career to manage a club our size then the same applies to Coyle, MacKay, Larsson and McNamara.

You're not. Of the list of candidates that I've seen, he is the best choice. Plus I've a tenner on him at 33to1:50:

I know that, I don't want any of them either :smiley-laughing002:

Keane has the personality of a dead tree. Lenny brought us the thunder but I imagine Keane will bring nothing but rain.

Jammy *. Guess you're one guy who'll be able to afford a season ticket if Keane's the manager, then. :smiley-laughing002:
