I wanted a medium to well sizzling steak with home made chips and brownies for dessert but a bowl of weetabix could do the job. Still wanted steak though.

He'll either have a go at the media or fall out with one of the players.

I honestly can't see how this is an exciting or ambitious appointment. Do we just have a list of names that fit the 'Celtic man' or 'Cheap' critera and lob a dart at it?

Maybe the Mail have been told Keane, but misunderstood and it's actually former Blackburn manager Steve Kean.

    Run for the hills!

I don't think steak and brownies would be nice in the morning I'd have the weetabix at that time.

I doubt we have been turned down by everyone to be honest. This has Dermot Desmond written all over it.

The board haven't been ambitious either and looked abroad.

Let's see ITV sport try and slag us off now. Keane probably knows where they all live.

When he resigned from Sunderland, the team had a party to celebrate and then he was sacked by Ipswich. On top of that the guy is a *.

I bet he'd be happy enough to invest some of his millions in Celtic if his pal was the manager, eh?

If only it was legal for him to do so :54:

He'd fall out with all the players.

If this does happen, the only good thing is that he won't be a yes man for the board, he'll have been promised money to spend if he took it.

So hold on, let's look at this logically, rather than emotionally. Positive one: he's a determined and hard-working individual. Negative: he's too determined, stubborn and proud for his own good; the kind of guy who would keep on doing the wrong thing because it was his idea and no one's going to tell him it's wrong. Positive: he's bound to have a huge network of ex-colleagues and others he knows through the game; will be a huge addition to our scouting knowledge. Positive: he's enormously experienced as a player. Negative: the scarce experience he's had in management has been miserable.

So we have here a guy who (though he has an excellent playing record and no shortage of grit) has the unfortunate combination of 1) a poor track record in decision-making and 2) the propensity to stubbornly stick to those decisions.

A resounding 'naw' from me; based solely on evidence.

Considering the bookies odds haven't changed at all in the last hour and Keane is still only around evens favourite we can take it that this likely isn't true

PLEASE NOT!!!!!!!!!!! Clearly would be a Desmond appointment. Keane managerial record is a disaster. Don't want him anywhere near Celtic. Have ALL the rest knocked it back???

Certainly won't get the fans rushing for tickets.

Its better than Coyle - to me anyway. At least we will be passionate and the guy knows European teams inside out. I suppose he may be able to help us attract players? I dunno, too many if and buts and I'm worried about his style.

All in though, Its not too bad.
