Anyone else think we are wasting time here, fannying around and should just appoint Coyle.

It would be interesting to see how the media react to him. I wonder if they'd be as quick to print * when they know they need to see him every week.

Keane should be nowhere near the Celtic manager job. He's not good enough...simple as that.
Pish at Sunderland and pish at Ipswich. Might be best suited to being an assistant with MON.

Weren't Sunderland bottom of the championship after like 6 games when he took over and then in the end they strolled the league?

Also they weren't exactly in danger of going down when he was in charge.

If it were indeed going to be Coyle then aye.

But if we're looking for the right man for the job then we should wait. No point rushing into appointing anyone unless they're right for Celtic

Laudrup's lack of longevity at any club he's been at - 4 clubs in 7 years - could go against him. A decent run in the Champions League for example would raise his profile, would he jump at the first decent offer from another team? Still, he would be a signal of intent from the board.

Keane would potentially be a disaster. It would be odds on he'd upset someone. I don't think it would work.

Still looking like Coyle is the 'sensible' option for the board. :54:

Ive no idea who will get the job but im praying we get someone high profile like Laudrup, Keane or even Lambert. Must be easier to buy and keep hold of our better players with a bigger name in charge. Not convinced people like Coyle and McNamara will make us better.

Honestly wouldn't mind that. I mean WGS and Lennon stayed what, 4 years? At least with Laudrup we would be showing a signal of intent and would stand a fighting chance of getting into Europe for the next few years, boosting our co-efficient, getting decent results and being able to attract some decent players. Laudrup looks as if he can spot good talent aswell.

I do realise nothing is certain but I do believe he would be a step in teh right direction.

Im pretty big on the Oscar Garcia Idea.. I think he could be a very good coach and i think that its pretty impressive what he did in Israel. Id like Garcia or Mcnamara to get the job. Id be pleased with an upcoming manager who hopefully can grow and bring a freshness like Brendan Rodgers has at Liverpool.

I'm not saying it would be a bad thing. It's something that would be looked at though.

Even a couple of years with Laudrup could be a good thing. As I said, it would be a signal of intent from the board. We'd be showing ambition

Laudrup is the only one other than Larsson that would have me buzzing.

I would be * right off if Roy Keane got the job, he is not good enough and would be a massive mistake.

And I would add to that, the Ipswich job was a bad choice of club for him at the time.

Still Oscar Garcia for me. Up-and-coming manager, hungry, wants the job and has experience in a few different footballing and cultural environments. We'd be daft to shun him for a safe bet like Owen Coyle.

We don't sign players on the basis of them having some prior affection for the club and those criteria should apply to the managerial position.

Coyle would stay for longer than Laudrup. For that, there is no doubt.

Mevin just PM'd me, 99% certain the man mentioned in the PM is the new manager he says just pending confirmation from the club. His source is a good one though.

PM him if you want more details.
