There must be massive sums of money getting put on Roy Keane. He has went to Even money favourite with Betfred, and Coyle is now out at 7/4. That is a big swing compared to this morning.

And that is exactly what the board will be hoping for if we hire Coyle.
They will assume the fans will still show up in their droves and hand over their money. Bringing in a coyle will be * horrifying.

Pardon me, but why would bookmaker odds be a relevant sign as to who actually is close to being appointed?

Definitely. They must have raked in some amount of money on Larsson as well, because his odds were as short as 1/3 at one point. Coyle was similar.

I would be absolutely furious if Keane were even considered.

Shocking manager, * spotter of talent, abrasive to everyone in contact with him, no man management skills, tactical nous of a Junior football manager and a record one wouldn't be proud of.

The only and only thing that would make Keane a contender is the fact he was a World Class footballer. The 2 things are distinct - he is as poor at managing as he was good at football. He is nowhere near good enough.

If the board brought in a 61 year old postman with no managerial experience at all you would still get on way it. And the board no that. They know you'd probably be * of for a bit but then say, "he's the manger and we'll just have to support him and get on way it".

They know they can * us about stupid and show no ambition and we'll lap it up like a good wee doggy. I'll be seriously surprised if it was someone like Moyes or Laudrop or even Garcia.

    It'll be Owen Coyle!

Quite surprised at the negativity regarding keane.

Certainly not my first choice for the job but anything but the last.He would sure kick the players butts if they ever slacked off, could see him do well in Europe, able to attract good players to the club and I think he would put a buzz back in the stadium and attract more along.

Keane's *, that's why he's been sacked from the only two jobs he's ever had

I've got a mate who's an Ipswich fan, their fans say he's unbelievably bad.....he sold Jordan Rhodes to Huddersfield for 350 grand ffs.....who later sold him for 8 million

If he never played here or wasn't Irish, any suggestion of a manager whose only real experience is getting sacked off Ipswich and Sunderland would be ridiculed to *

I'd also rather have Coyle than him, which believe me is quite a statement

They are of extremely little relevance. "Mackay is to be appointed"....everyone puts money on him, the odds go way down (over 95% of what makes odds move is people putting money on it), so more people put money on.

Then it's going to be Coyle, then Larsson, then Keane etc.....bookmakers will probably make a loss if one of them actually does get appointed but have more than made their money back on everyone else.

I'd take Keane over Coyle at least we would see some passion on the touchline and honestly in interviews
