Personally, I'd like to see Laudrup with weighorst as assistant, then if Laudrup decides to move in, let weighorst take a shot at it. failing that, mackay would be next best shout for me

Owen Coyle isn't British.... well, sort of not, he played for Ireland anyways...... he's the guy. :50:

Seriously though, why rule out all English, Scottish and Welsh managers just based on their nationality? I want Garcia or Laudrup based on their managerial ability, however if Moyes or someone like that was truly interested there is no way we could turn him down just because he's a Scot.

No, We turn him down because he has a face like a melted wellie and plays the worst kind of football.

Yes, we turn down football managers based on facial appearance...

The problem is, some of the names, most notable Coyle, are only being touted because they have a Celtic connection. If it weren't for this then they wouldn't be getting quoted.

There's a name I've not heard mentioned whose just left his role in Russia, plenty of European experience, won silverware, played excellent football and had an eye for a player. Just left Dnipro to their highest ever finish in the league and he's a name that's generally been forgotten about - Juande Ramos.

Mentioned like 3 times by a few people including myself. :smiley-laughing002:

He's a good shout, he is't in the limelight anymore but he may want a crack at a big league again.

There is absolutely no way the board will have that much ambition.

Part of me worries that Lawwell and DD think we can just scrape by in the qualifiers because the teams are lesser than us. Then when we are in the CL (if we get there), then anything is a bonus.

I really hope they don't think this way.

    Well * you then :icon_mrgreen:

If the reports of us approaching Michael Laudrap is true it would be worth the question. They're of a similar mould, Ramos has been far more succesfull though. I was a big fan of Sevilla teams.
