Don't need to read a book to gather that info, it's common sense. Of course we will win the league, no matter who we get. That isn't the reason behind who we want as manager.

We want the best manager we can get because we want to progress in cups/Europe and in terms of how we play and what players we can attract.

Based on the fact he didn't majorly impress me at Celtic, playing in a league that is nowhere near the level of the BPL. He's a decent enough manager, nothing special.

Aye the league may be a foregone conclusion but the cups aren't. We also want a good style of football implemented - would be nice.

We need a good manager that can do well in Europe and help establish us as a regular European side.

Coyle's just, I dunno, is he good enough for that? How will the dismal, pale, short-wearing munter inspire anyone?

Plus if we need to enhance our 'brand' image, guys like Coyle are a no go. Our share price will fall (guaranteed) if he is hired.

The thing about statistics is that you have to know your assumptions. I remember when the big "Science" thing in the early 90's was Charles Hughes' analysis. He had whole reams of statistics to back up his (flawed) position. The Norwegian team in France 98 explicitly played to that philosophy for example.

Been mentioned on a few other forums, that Coyle has already been interviewed.

Agreed, our "brand" image has also jumped 8 places in the last year of the top 50 worldwide clubs according to the experts. I would like to believe that the board take these things into consideration, my heart tells me they don't.

His CV is better than Neil's was and slightly better than Mowbray's.

He is right up our boards street.

Who knows for sure how good OC will be? We don't!

Who here knew how good Larsson was....or how much of a club legend he would become? We didn't!

Most thought Mogga would have been a good manager....he was RANK!

Even Lenny has had some woeful results....not just bad but, abysmally bad!

The fact is we have no idea how good, bad or indifferent OC will be. He may turn out to be the man who leads us to 10 iar! He may also be the man who gets the boot after 6 months!

Looks like he is going to be our new manager. He would not be my choice. But, I say good luck to him!
