Because its just the cheap option and is the least interesting appointment i could imagine. It depresses the life out me thinking he would be in charge. Dont get ke wrong he would win the league but any manager would win the league

He could prove us all wrong and win the treble though. He's not the most exciting choice but he deserves a chance if he lands the job.

A team like Grananda are in talks with Michael Laudrup and we are in talks with Owen Coyle. Sad state of affairs.

I have to agree with this.

No matter who it is, they should get full backing.
No use in griping till we can see what they can do.

At least Coyle is a manager with experience of managing, and in decent league set ups. All of which is more than can be said for Lennon.

I'm not too fussed about the new manager to be honest, Although I'd rather not see Keane or Di Canio anywhere near us.

Di Canio is a * and Keane will throw the toys out the pram first time something goes wrong.

"They offered me the job and I turned it down to stay at Burnley,"

Do you really want to back a man who rejected us first time round for Burnley.

He has made an * of his last two jobs. He is a manager in decline. It just shows a total lack of ambition from the board have if we appoint him.

My view is that if we're going to be winning the league anyway, why not do it in style? Coyle's football is turgid at best.

I believe we should be looking at a younger manager with some new ideas.

Who's to say Laudrup would have done a good job here?

    Who's to say Coyle wont?

Honestly some people are deluding themselves... talking about not watching Celtic if Coyle gets appointed? * me! He's like the only choice that makes sense..... not particularly for good reasons...... but for reasons we have to live with.

First of all, Coyle is far from the worst option out there.... I look up at that list and I'd take Coyle over must of them.

Lambert? Has been awful for Villa this year and the standard of football abysmal. McKay? What the *'s he done that Coyle hasn't? Burnley were far less likely to gain promotion when they did than when Cardiff did.

Keane... yeah, no need to go there.

Steve Clarke.... only managerial job was sacked by WBA.

    Larsson.... nowhere near ready.

ANY SPFL manager currently who's never managed anywhere else other than Scotland...... * NO!!!!

In an ideal world David Moyes would be throwing himself at the job.... we all know that's not happening.

Oscar Garcia seems the best logical choice for me, even then he's not overly proven and he's just potential at this point.

I think we have to accept the position we're in, we're a team who'll walk this league and who're constantly rebuilding our squad so can't get any consistency in terms on improving in Europe and have Lawwell who doesn't give a * about the progression of us as a football team.

Owen Coyle is a guy who'll not argue with him, who'll play ok-ish football and will achieve the bare minimum on financial restrictions..... he's the ONLY logical choice for this job. I'm sorry but that's the way it's going to be and we have to deal with it.

The only two on the list I would have below Coyle is Keane and McCarthy. I would genuinely be more excited with anyone else over him.
